This is honestly one of the best places to visit whether you are young or old!!! We have been coming here around 10 years now. Every year but one we have walked out and cut down our own tree. They provide the saws and tarps/sleds. The one year we didn’t, we had next to no time and quickly grabbed one from their selection of precut trees. All trees have been great- holding their needles all the way til the end of the year. We own one of their tree stands which has a metal bar about 4-5 inches tall in the center which holds the tree in place. Brilliant! No messing around with screwing in four bolts on the sides of the trunk. They drill a hole for you to fit on that metal bar, and also shake out the dead needles and wrap it in mesh for easier transport home. All worth the money! Ours cost around $75 this year. Of course we had to have the deep fried Oreos and Nilla Wafers which they call Gooey O’s and Donillas! Yum!

We have been coming here for the past 10 years to get our Christmas trees! They have precut ones or you can cut your own down. We have done both depending on the time we have available and have found both types last the same. If you want to cut one, you either walk out to a field, or ride the hay wagon pulled by a tractor. There is a detailed map of the different kinds of pines so you know exactly where to go. There is a wide variety of kinds, size, and cost. There is a barn where they give you a tarp and saw, and that’s also where you bring the tree back after you cut it down to pay for it, have it spun and pounded (to get out the loose needles), and wrapped. There is free hot cider, Christmas wreaths, ornaments, etc. Outside there is a maze, and a large climbing/play area for kids. A little wagon contains the most tasty treats for sale! There are donillos which are Nilla Wafers coated in donut batter and deep fried, as well as Gooey O’s which are deep fried Oreos. They sell coffee, hot cocoa, soda, hot dogs, and cheddar brats. This is a great place to make family memories!!!

Great time for the family. lots of fun stuff for everyone. been going there for years. take a ride on the tactor/ trailer with free peanuts, and pick a tree. then get battered oroe cookies with hot coco. kids can play in hay tree fort. fun fun fun....

We’ve gotten X-mas trees last 5 years from this farm, unfortunately won’t going forward. Not sure if it’s a hybrid species tree odor, or I just dragged it thru dog poo (two years in a row) on the way to the truck, but the tree smells - really bad. Staff didn’t get it drilled straight (had to shim a center-drilled tree to get it level) and trees were expensive. We’ll find a center-drilled, odor free option closer to home next year.

This tree farm is our family tradition each year! We usually cut down our own tree, but were short on time this year and picked one from their precut section. The kids love it here! You can either walk, or take a hay ride out to the tree lots. Lots of fun either way! They provide you with a map of where the different kinds of trees are, a saw, and a tarp. One of our favorite parts of our annual tradition is the little stand that sells hot cocoa and deep fried Oreos and 'donillos' which are deep fried Nilla Wafers! We also enjoy browsing and finding a unique little treasure in the gift shop in the barn. There is a loft you can climb to, and a miniature train that runs along the top. They have their own stands here, and drill a hole up the end of the tree trunk to stabilize it in the stand. Whoever thought that up was a genius, as our tree never gets tippy. They have a very unique playground and kids love it! Go! You must go!

We met friends at St. Croix Valley Tree Farm, and we were very impressed. Great play areas for the kids, to include a hayloft/tree house/playground, and the loft of the barn. The playground is ingeniously set up with really neat nooks and crannies, while the barn loft boasts handmade games powered by small steel balls. It costs a buck, but it provides a good 10 minutes of fun per kid, and they get a gumball at the end. An additional outside play area is made up of large tubes, but the warm weather and no snow made it a muddy mess. There are plentiful, helpful staff on hand. Grab a map, a saw, and a tarp and head out into the expansive, scenic farm, or catch a wagon ride to a specific area. A bonfire keeps the chills away, and an authentic Saint Nicholas was on hand in his stone chalet, ready to greet the families. The snack cart was priced reasonably, and the snacks (hot chocolate, mini donuts stuffed with Nilla wafers or oreos, and Brine's cheddarwurst) were a step up from normal fare. There is also a small holiday-themed boutique in the barn. All in all, a great experience and a new family tradition. While I do appreciate the complimentary tree-shaking and bagging, I do wish that they would offer to tie trees onto cars. Tree prices are a bit on the spendy side (about $70 for a 7.5 foot Frasier), but the fact that we were there for about three hours enjoying ourselves seemed to make it worth the price.

This was my first trip here and it was VERY fun. With just a few questions from a staff member they help you find exactly what type of tree you're looking for! I love the actual trek out to the fields with the kids, and I loved watching my sons help their dad chop one down to bring home!
There's a large outdoor play area that's really cool, they serve hot cider and cocoa with some goodies to eat. We've decided to make this a tradition. Our actual tree hardly dropped any needles and didn't turn brown at all! It lasted for a VERY long time! We will be looking forward to next year.
