This little island is really pretty- its pedestrians only. The history of tsunamis marked on the tree was really neat to read about. Seeing the island at sunset from the adjacent park was a beautiful sight.

Our family of five from Texas and Oklahoma visited Oahu and the Big Island for Spring Break! While staying in Hilo, we walked to Coconut Island a couple times. The views from the island are so pretty! We watched several kids jumping off the tower. We even did some geocaching on the island!

Cute little island to visit. And fun history on their website. A palm tree is marked showing how high the tsunamis have hit the island.

빅아일랜드, 힐로공항 근처에 있는 공원이다. 힐로 공항에서 6~7km, 차로 10~15분 정도 떨어진 위치에 있다. 공원 바로 앞에는 Hilo Hawaiian이라는 호텔이 있다. 코코넛 섬은 작은 섬이어서 도보로 5~10분 정도면 둘러볼 수 있다. 편의점이나 식당, 카페 등 인프라는 없어서 길게 머물기는 불편할 수 있다. 드라이브 하면서 잠깐 근처를 둘러보기에는 좋은 곳이다.

ガイドブックにハワイ原住民の神聖な島と書いてあったので、地元在住の知人に連れて行ってもらいました。リリウオカラニ公園近くの道路に車を駐め、橋を渡ってココナッツ島へ行きました。夏休みの子供達が大勢で賑やかに海水浴をしていて、神聖な場所という雰囲気ではなく、説明の看板もありませんでした。まあ、ヒロ湾のリゾート的な雰囲気を味わえただけても良しとしました。

Coconut Island was located in a beautiful area. We came here first thing and it was so nice to walk, listen to and see the ocean, and enjoy the views. There are a few facilities here for restrooms and picnics. It's a pedestrian only island which is nice. There were dogs here enjoying the beach, everyone was happy!

Small but cute. Seems like a really nice local park. One side has a fun Japanese garden with some walking paths. The other side of the park is the Coconut Island with swimming and really cool views.

Coconut Island is not much of a walk from Lililukalani Gardens and is worth the effort. Walking near the Jumping Tower isn't quite as easy as getting there, but it was cool to watch the younger folks plunging into the bay .

This spot was right across from our hotel. We frequently see families enjoying a picnic and kids swimming. It is a beautiful spot to spend some time. It’s a great photo spot too.

It's a lovely walk, particularly if you go through the park and do a loop. There's an interesting interpretive sign that shows water levels during past tsunamis. Sobering!
