We ordered dinner and wine and watched a movie in style! The seats are really comfortable. It's a little pricey, but great place for a celebratory meal. We might opt to eat first at the dining area and then watch the movie next time.

Please do not waste your time or money. The jerky squeaky seats were not in time with the movies - all they did was jerk you around. The 3-D movies were mostly not 3-D. The few minutes that were actually 3-D were poor quality. The shows were not good content - did not even have good visual effects. It was terrible. The only good thing I can say is to give a compliment to the really nice gal that was behind the counter and took our money. She was a sweet gal.

I'm a sucker for this type of attraction. The cinema shows short films presented in a way that attempts to make you feel like you are in the film's environment, via bursts of air and mist and movement of the seats. For the most part, it works. The animated Penguin Express film, in particular, legitimately made me feel like I was moving. The similarly animated roller coaster film was similarly "moving" but the film's lack of adherence to real-world physics kind of took me out of the experience a bit. I was much less impressed by the filmed undersea film which was relatively unimpressive.
The friendly staff, though, made the whole experience awesome. I brought one of my children on our first visit and had to leave before we could see all of the films we'd paid (in advance) to see. We quietly left, happy with our experience (even paying for films we didn't see, the cinema seemed a bargain considering the prices of other items/experiences nearby). I returned a few days later, two others in tow and was immediately recognized by a friendly staff member who had noticed that we didn't see the films we'd previously paid for. Without us having to ask, she had 3D glasses in hand and was waving all of us into the theater to resume the experience. That was a customer-service home run and I am grateful for her sense of fairness and the kindness she showed my family. Great job!
Consequently, I can't help but recommend the Great 4-D Movie Ride.

We tried the Great 4-D Movie Ride on our recent trip to Hawaii. The ride offers about ten different choices to select from. You sit in a movie seat that moves with the action on the screen and adds sensory effects such as sea spray, wind and sound. A Disney-eske ride for a very reasonable cost on a small scale. The lady at the shop was very personable and helps with your ride selection.

These short rides are pretty cool! I'm 40 and totally loved it! I recommend you take the whole family.

We had originally wanted to snorkel at the nearby beach, but the seas were rough, overcast and windy, so we ended up at the Shops at Mauna Lani and went on the 4D Adventure Ride. This is a 4D simulated roller coaster ride going through various animated locations at breakneck speed, and occasionally giving you a quick, light spray with water. I screamed until my throat was sore, and hubby had a very intense time too. We got the locals rate so we saw 3 short movies for about 25 minutes of great entertainment. Note: one little girl was apparently scared by the "monsters" in the movie so her mother took her out, so please be aware of any young children's tolerance. They also have gifts and are located near several restaurants and stores for drinks and snacks. Prices were about $12 per person for 3 movies.

Free Ride between 4-6pm if show room card. No purchase required. Coupons for 2 for 1 also available in some free brochures. There's 7 movies to choose from. Located inside the Fine Hawaiian Gift Gallery. If there on a Monday or Thursday, there is a free Polynesian dance show at 7pm and you get reserved seating.

We gave each our kids $20 to buy souvenirs during our trip to Hawaii. Our 9 year old decided to spend his money on the ride at the back of the shop. They gave him a great deal on an all day pass and he loved it. I didn't join him, my husband did for a bit and then he waited out front for him to finish.

This is a small 24 seat 3D screen plus motion seat theater. There are about 10 different films to watch. Most are some form of animated thrill ride like roller coaster rides and last 10-15 minutes each. One real human one was a speed boat ride showing Hawaiian under water sea life.
One ticket retails for $6/person but there are 2/1 coupons in a tourist brochure. They also have multi tickets like 3/$12.
As a couple of gray hairs we enjoyed 3 of them but I think adolescents would really like them.
Located in the back of a souvenier shop close to the over priced super market.

We got to go here for free thanks to a deal with the resort we were staying at, so that probably colors my thinking. We were just killing some time before dinner. The roller coaster adventure was pretty fun, though my husband got a little queasy. The one child in the theater clearly had a total blast and was sad to leave.
