My private surf lesson with Greg was incredible. He was an excellent instructor with a laid back attitude. The weather, waves, and location were perfect for a beginner like me. I caught at least half a dozen waves and even saw some whales, along with having a close encounter with a turtle just a few feet from our spot. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Maui and I can’t wait to get back out there again.

Greg was the most awesome surf instructor for my son -13 years old. I was a bit nervous at first but Greg’s expertise and chill personality put me at ease immediately. We’ve been coming to Maui for a decade and this was one of my son’s favourite experiences yet. We even got a
quick lesson on ocean stewardship and Hawaiian vowels/vocabulary. We’ll be back!

Greg was wonderfully patient and our girls had a great time. While out for their lesson even saw turtles and whales. Got several great waves and practice in a safe environment with good weather. Couldn't have had a better day on the water and our girls really progressed in their confidence with surfing.

I can’t say enough good things about this experience. Our 18 and 16 year old kids had a blast and learned how to surf - first try! Greg is a phenomenal teacher. Very thorough and supportive. This will likely live on as one of the main highlights of our Maui vacation.

We came to Maui and snorkled, hiked, kayaked, toured, surfed, and more and the private lesson the kids had with Greg was their TOP experience for the whole trip. SURFING with Greg was the best. Not only did they learn a ton from Greg, they originally had no experience surfing, they got pretty good, and are already talking about short boards and future surfing adventures. The pics were "post worthy" according to the kids too! 6 out of 5 stars. Great experience. I only wish I had brought BINOCULARS to watch from the beach.

A fantastic day on the water for the entire family. My husband and I brought our 15 and 18 year olds to Maui and they wanted to try surfing for the first time. My husband and I had tried surfing lessons 3 times before. Our instructor Greg was fantastic! He was a patient and calm teacher. Both kids were up on their first try! We had Go Pros on our boards and Greg emailed us the photos within an hour of the lesson. We had so much fun catching waves. We were exhausted and happy. My husband and I agree this was the best surfing lesson experience we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this private lesson with Maui Surf Lessons!

It was our first surf lesson ever and we are so happy to have chosen Maui Surf Lessons! Rachel was amazing. She explained everything clearly, helped each of us three - two adults and our daughter of 7 - catch several waves and actually really SURF. She was of a tremendous help for our daughter who found it difficult to paddle for a long time with her arms. Rachel was pushing her own bord and our daughter's bord making it possible for us - adults - to have fun and for our daughter to catch waves in time.
It was a 100% worth booking this privet lesson as opposed to bigger group lessons.
Rachel's warm smile and all her advices made this lesson unforgettable. Thank you so much, Rachel!

Greg was an absolute professional and perfect instructor for our three kids. He prepared them for what to expect and celebrated in their success. The pictures taken by GoPro from MSL are priceless

My husband and I with our two kids (ages 13 and 11) had a lesson with Greg. None of us had ever surfed before. Greg was a great teacher. We had the best time and all agreed this was our favorite thing on Maui! Highly recommend!

Great job by Greg working with my two surfing novices age 21 and 18. He did a great job all around. Communication and directions to the training spot were crystal clear. He arrived 15 minutes early.
He took the appropriate amount of time doing some onshore work with my two surfers and made some big breakthroughs with my daughter. By the end of the session, she was getting up on every wave. Even my son, who has struggled, was getting up on the board.
Better yet, he took the time to mount Go-Pros to the boards and captured some great photos which he emailed to us promptly after the session. What a great way to remember this lesson.
Would highly recommend this company for their service, knowledge, professionalism, and for making it fun for us midwesterners who rarely get to surf
