Isabella was informative and knowledgeable. We visited non-tourist-oriented venues. So much food, and a fascinating visit to a tea shop! A walk through Chinatown is a trip to a foreign land.

Isabella gave us a thorough food tour of North Beach not only guiding us to amazing food but also educating us on many interesting facts in this area of San Francisco. Highly recommend this tour to locals and visitors who want a fun day out in SF. Out date was extra special due to the Columbus Day parade through North Beach as well as Fleet week and the Blue Angels putting on an amazing show.

Horrible is not strong enough. Chef was 2 1/2 hours late. She was a soul food Chef not right for Asian cooking, didn’t teach anything as she rushed through the class at breakneck speed (about half the scheduled time), and declined to tell us some of the ingredients she used for the food.
Like I said, horrible is not strong enough.
Then I attempted to contact Cozymeal but they refused to talk with me.
Some advice: stay far away from this outfit.

I signed up for a cooking class this afternoon for a 7pm dinner for 2 people on the cozy meal website. This class was at the Sur La Table in Palo Alto.
My sister was in town for her birthday and we had a whole evening planned out. After I booked it, I received an email saying it was pending chef approval. I then called the Cozy Meal 800 number and wanted to confirm it was in fact booked and not pending. I was on the phone with the rep who told me the chef had just approved the class for us both. I was charged $187. We canceled our other plan as we really wanted to do the cooking class and were so excited we got in.
We arrived to Sur La Table in Palo Alto at 7pm sharp. We walked into the cooking room, were greeted, put on aprons. We then noticed we didn't have name tags. We walked up to the chef who told us she had us on NO reservation, she did not have our names nor did they have space for us or ANY extra FOOD for us to even join the class. I showed her our booking made through Cozy Meal, and she said she didn't know why there was a lack of communication to her and it was Cozy Meal's mistake.
I have honestly never had an experience this poor. I am honestly still stunned by the experience and operation of this whole thing. We drove 73 miles to get to this class on time, we were doing this as part of a birthday celebration. When I called Cozy Meal, the woman apologized, and said she would issue a refund and told me to have a good night. Unfortunately, this experience was not repaired by issuing me a refund after wasting 3 hours total of my life, ruining this night, and being humiliated when showing up and there was no room for us.
I will be letting others know this app is absolutely horrible and not ever using it again.
This is absolutely unacceptable, and I am sad a company like Sur La Table has partnered with Cozy Meal if this is how operations work.

We had Doug Cordell as our tour guide and he was awesome! A very knowledgeable SF local and an emmy-nominated storyteller - we could tell! He was very engaging and easy to talk with. We loved the spots he took us to - the tea shop was my personal favorite! Would definitely recommend.

Knowledgeable guide. It was a team building event and I expressed that I want to get done in 2.5 hours which he was able to accommodate - ordered ahead, shared shorter but sweeter stories. Everyone on the team loved it!

The Chinatown walking tour was very fun and educational. It was nice to learn about the history of Chinatown and what it has to offer. Unfortunately the food on the tour was not as good as we were hoping for. Loved seeing historic monuments and walking around/into small joints. Best part / meal of the day was the tea tasting. Isabella, our guide, was awesome. She knew a lot and was very kind. Definitely happy we did this experience, but not sure if we would refer friends/family solely because of the food.

Blandina did a great job in showing us stores, restaurants, bars and museums that we would have absolutely missed if we had not gone with her. She was fun, informative and enthusiastic about the neighborhood. She knew many of the employees which made it a comfortable tour. She never rushed us and let us linger in locations that interested for photos. The food she provided was great and included in the price. We would recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks. Blandina!
