Captain Jay is super fun and safe guide, great trip had a lot of fun. Went to a few places if not with a guide we will not know the history of those places.

Excellent Segway tour. Andrew was awesome - personable and knowledgeable. I did the 2.5 hour. If you like Segways, go for it. They have an actual brick and mortar location you can walk into during normal hours. I actually booked it after walking by and seeing it. Great starting spot in the city. A blend of mostly bike lanes, sidewalk and some shorter sections of road. I'd recommend it for to Segway lovers. This was probably my 10th one I've done before. Like typical, your guide will tell some history while riding and other times when stopped. Mine was just 2 people, so lots of personal attention to our questions and requests to stop and check something out. The main Segway lesson will be a video prior and then a teaching session. Both of us on our tour had ridden Segway before, so it was a quick process and then we were off for fun. I imagine if you are new to Segways, they will patiently take the time to train you right. Segway are actually pretty easy to steer. It does all the balance aspects for you.

My co-worker and I were in town on a work trip staying at the Hyatt across the harbor. A quick ferry ride over and the first thing we stumbled across was Boston Segway Tours. We walked in just in time to get in on the last tour of the day. Our tour-guide Andrew was superb! He let us customize what locations we wanted to emphasize on our shorter tour. His instruction was great and he had us gliding the streets in no time! Highly recommend taking the family on a Segway tour!

Fantastic two hour tour. We loved it and Captain J was brilliant. Would definitely do the tour again next time we are in Boston.

WOW! What an amazing experience! Despite the cold and sleet our guide (Captain J) gave us the best tour of the North End and central district of Boston. Really great fun and a fabulous family experience - would highly recommend. Thank you.

Took this tour in the snow/rain. Was still fun! Captain J did a great job explaining everything and making sure we were safe along the streets of Boston. Great way to see the city, highly recommend.

Rob was great. The tour was a great way to see the city. Good mix of exploring a learning some of Boston’s history. Lots of fun. Highly recommend it.

I was visiting from LA and went on the longer tour with a local friend of mine who had never been on a Segway. We ended up being the only two on the tour and we both had such a fantastic time, despite my friend's initial trepidation about using a Segway. The tour guide (I think he called himself Cap'n J) was highly knowledgeable, considerate and very patient. The Segways are super easy to learn how to use (I'm 60, very uncoordinated and have to be careful about falling due to joint replacements, so I don't try anything that's even slightly risky). My friend and I learned a lot about Boston and covered much more ground than we otherwise could have. I was there during a heat wave, which in Boston means extreme humidity. I'm prone to heat stroke and couldn't walk around for more than a few minutes without feeling lousy. The Segway was great because it creates its own wind, which is so refreshing. My only recommendation is to wear sunscreen and bring lots of water. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, since it's worth the money just to cruise along on the Segway. It's much better to be out in the open than inside a tour bus and going on a Segway is like the best combination of a walking tour and a bus tour.

This was a fun way to get an overview of the Boston landscape and historical sites. We started our trip this way and marked places we wanted to explore more. You won’t find a more patient and accommodating guide than Rick. Would highly recommend Rick and this tour.

They send you an email with a link. It usually takes a couple or few days after your tour. You can always call and ask. The pictures are under your tour group leader.

If our time is flexible, (we can go any day within a two week period in August), how far in advance do we have to reserve a tour for a party of 3-6 people?

I booked the same day for a 2.30 pm slot. The tours are open from 10 am I assume till 5 pm in the evening. The availability would depend on the time of the year I would assume. However each instructor is allowed to take 5 people with them so it would be advisable to maintain a group of 5 if you want to be together.

Do they have trikes/scooter instead just in case you don’t get on with the Segway? Did Segway in Chicago fell off Segway in training got trike instead.

I dont think so. I'm pretty sure they only had segways. We went thr evening before and had my adult son try it. Ion, the owner was great w him. Ion actually helped steer the segway as it would have been too difficult for my son. I'd highly recommend it. The reason I went the evening before w because i was concerned that he wouldn't get on.
We both had a blast.

Not on hands or shoulders, but you can get pains in your feet from standing flat.... you have to flex and stretch your feet a bit when you stop! It’s so much fun. 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Susan! You have to be 14 years old and up or weigh at least 100lbs to be able to participate in a tour. Weight is very important as it is needed to control the Segway. Thanks for inquiring though!
