I was trying to book for a corporate event because of the location (prudential) and the food recommendation. I called in the morning to ask for availability so I can decide this place is going to work or not. Front desk picked up the phone and said the Chef is the only person who knows the private event schedule and the chet won't be in until 3pm and I asked front desk to leave a message for the chef to call back. I called again because the chef never called me and I was told the chef was in a private class at the moment and will put the note on his desk so as soon as he is done he will call me. Again, no call. The next day I called again, explained the situation, front desk said the chef has not come in for the past few days. Seriously? When i told them the second time I called the chef was in a class so clearly he came in, the front desk put me on hold and gave the availibility. How come? I thought the Chef holds the secret??! Horrible horrible customer care. We wernt to Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and they are absolutely fantastic!

I first attended a class in the summer of 2016, the week we moved our daughter into her college dorm (from Tampa to Boston!) It was a great family experience for the three of us and a great distraction after the fact, as my husband and I opted to take the offer for the discounted second class. (After my daughter moved in and she was too busy for us, we had time to enjoy the city and share some experiences as ‘empty nesters.’)
Here’s what I love: The ability to use kitchen utensils. We now own great new items that we’ve enjoyed over he past few years!
Great new recipes and new cooking techniques, plus, each cooking class is a delicious dinner out...
There’s really nothing I don’t love.
I’m here in the city again, Spring 2018.. I’ve taken two more classes, just me!! Both were fantastic!
I’ve purchased more kitchen items over the years. My daughter had pans in her apartment and various other items. It’s awesome having quality tools when you cook! ScanPans are FABULOUS!
BTW, I ruined a pan, user error, and their customer service at the corporate level was AMAZING!!!

I visited Sur La Table in Boston with some coworkers to take a cooking class. We took Great British Baking and it was a really fun experience. The chef and staff there are really kind and helpful. We made meat pies, a strawberry short cake, and scones. After completing each of the recipes, we were able to eat our delicious creations and bring some home as well. The cooking classes are a little on the expensive side, but I think it was definitely worth it and would highly recommend. The store has every baking or cooking item you could need as well!

This cooking class was honestly the worst $80 I've ever spent. The class is paired in groups of fours, which means 75% of the time you're standing around watching a random stranger chop a vegetable. The class was centered more around arranging ingredients rather than providing techniques or actually allowing you to interact in the cooking process. Our "chef" was awful at public speaking and I felt spent a significant amount of time pushing the purchase of their products or signing up for other classes. If you know how to ball raw meat and boil pasta (literally from Market Basket) I suggest you take your money and time and spend it elsewhere.

Fun place for a date night but just know, they do not serve wine while you cook so if you're looking for that I would recommend a different place!
It is very informative though and a fun experience! It's about 2 1/2 hours in length.

My family did the ravioli workshop here last year for Christmas. The workshop itself was enjoyable but we were rather disappointed at the end of the class when it came time to enjoy the fruits of our labor, and each received only a taste of each dish. My husband and I left hungry, and ended up going out to dinner afterwards. At the price they charge we definitely expected to get to enjoy more grub at the end of the workshop. I wouldn't recommend this or go again.

This was our first time and we will definitely go back again. We did a tapas class on New Year's Eve day. Great recipes. Can't wait to try at home. We got a last minute deal which was great but if you don't book ahead you will not get into a class. They give you a 10% discount to use in the store after and there was a 20% discount on a scanpan because we used them.

A little pricey, but you learn some great techniques and there is more than enough food to eat at the end. The class was extremely fun and easy to follow along. It was also great that they put you at a table of 6 so that you can work together and possibly meet new people.

I am not a cook by any means and I had a lot of fun at this cooking class. In fact, I hate cooking but I still enjoyed the class. I attended with my husband and daughter. My husband loves cooking and learned some good tips. Each person is provided with a copy of the recipes to take home.
The class was supposed to be 2 hours but actually took 2 1/2 hours. That was fine with us and the time went by fast.
There were 16 people in the class which was broken up into 2 groups of 8. Everyone helps out and there wasn't pressure to do something if you weren't comfortable with it. We had a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it.
Reservations need to be made online and the classes cost about $66 a person. Our class was actually on sale and we paid half price. When thinking of the price, you have to factor in the cost of the ingredients and that you're eating what you cook so it's not as expensive as it might seem at first glance.
Many of the classes have waitlists because they fill up. In this store, there isn't room for more than 16 people so I don't know if they are ever able to accommodate people on the waitlist (unless they add another class). I don't see people cancelling after they make a reservation because you have to pay in full at time of reservation.
