A perfect morning tour!

I did the lower east side immigrant tour with Dan. We got to see some amazing places and since I'm a solo female traveler - I would have been hesitant to go a few of these places alone, so it was amazing having a private guide who knew the area as I felt very safe. Dan knows his stuff and I had a terrific time!

Amazing way to start your day when sightseeing in NYC

We joined the tour via hour hotel on two consecutive days. On Wednesday we went to see Upper West Side and Central Park and on Thursday we joint the tour in Greenwich Village. The tour was a very good start to the day, leading us to different parts of the city and setting us up for a day full of exploring. Dan was an amazing guide and provided us with a lot of insights both factual and anecdotal. He also gave us a "local's take" on some developments in the city which was very refreshing and differentiated this tour from the more streamlined mass tours. The group was quite small which was nice and gave us the option to spend some time, chat and ask more questions.

fascinating and fun walking tour

We did the Upper West Side walking tour from the Hotel Bellclaire with David. Super interesting tidbits about the neighbourhood, interesting anecdotes about the history of the area. Visited Levain's, Zabar's, several history buildings and ended up at Strawberry Fields for an introduction to Central Park. David was knowledgeable, fun and relaxed. Highly recommended!

Great experience

It was an amazing excursion around Brooklin heights. Our guide was just great, he shared so many interesting historical facts and stories! The pace we were going was also excellent. I wish to take more excursions from Streetwise New York Tours next time I journey to New York.

Ronnie deserves a raise!

Went to Brooklyn and Dumbo with Ronnie. Best time ever! Ronnie was the best, unfortunately we had some goofy ahh people in our group. Overall, would do it again (without the goofy ahh people)

Informational discovery through NYC

The streetwise tours were offered via our hotel and were such a great introduction into specific neighborhoods. We ended up doing the Brooklyn tour and the bits of information really changed it from a walk across a bridge to a learning experience. Very glad we did it!

הייתי בשני סיורים, אחד לגרינץ' וילג' ואחד לאפר איסט סייד וסנטרל פארק. שניהם היו מצויינים. גם דן וגם אנדרו היו אדיבים ושופעי ידע, הכירו פינות מיוחדות ושילבו היטב בין הסטוריה רחוקה לקרובה. רואים שהם אוהבים את העיר שלהם ואוהבים להדריך

Engaging, adaptable, and just really fun

We had a wonderful time on our walking tour of Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO. I really appreciated the way Sonya was able to provide historical range, explaining what things original design use was, and tracking that to what we were Curitiba standing in front of. The stories she chose to tell were all engaging. I was also particularly impressed by the way she adjusted her explanations to provide context for those in our group that were not from the United States and so didn’t inherently know minutiae of US history. I didn’t want our tour to end— I would have happily listened and walked all day.

Flexible and fun

I was scheduled to do a tour of Brooklyn out of the Pod Hotel, but due to frustrating weekend subway issues(!) we never made it there. Luckily, our tour guide David was flexible and we did a tour of Tribeca and the financial district instead. It was a chance to see a less touristy part of town. I've done lots of tours in lots of cities: highly recommend Streetwise!

Hotel Edison - we did both free tours @Rockefeller & @Grand Central tours and both were fantastic! Fun, informative & great hosts sharing history, random facts & relevant detail to the areas , thankyou dan and sonia
