You can find street parking but I would leave extra time to find it. You should be able to find something within a block or two walk.

We parked at the parking garage located within the shopping area of the harbor. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to walk there depending on if your littles are in strollers or walking, and how fast they walk. I went with my 12 and 5 year olds and we made it down there in about 5 minutes. For sake of not rushing, if this is your first time to the area, I would suggest giving yourself about 15 minutes to walk down.

Yes, if the weather is nice you can take the promenade which is a walkway along the water and it is about 1 mile. You could also take the Circulator bus (free) or take the water taxi.
