En visitant cette ferme, vous saurez tout sur le poivre et son appellation géographique protégée. Mr et Mme PORRÉ, un sympathique couple belge s'est lancé avec succès dans cette entreprise en 2013. Ils sont aujourd'hui à la tête d'une belle entreprise. Ils entretiennent tout un village en ayant créé une école, en payant le instituteurs et en payant bien leur ouvriers.
A la fin de la visite (gratuite, en anglais ou en français), une dégustation vous sera offerte et vous pourrez apprécier les différents poivres suivant leur maturité. Bien sûr, vous pourrez acheter le poivre à la boutique. A noter que La Plantation fait également restaurant et donne des cours de cuisine.

Nous étions étonnés de ne pas avoir de réponses à nos messages mais une fois sur place nous avons constaté que l établissement était fermé.

C'est un très belle endroit, le patron est très sympa et plein de bon conseils. Les ballades sont adaptés selon si vous êtes débutant ou cavalier. Il y a aussi un petit bar ou il fait bon se rafraîchir.

We went on the 1 hour ride to the butterfly farm. We got there and the horses were all ready and tacked up. We got greeted by the owner who was French, got our helmets and set off down into beautiful and green plantation. I rode a horse called Romeo and loved his personality! He was very energetic and enthusiastic when it came to trail rides and was always the first one in line! We saw a few butterflies with different colours and they were very beautiful. As I am an experienced rider I wanted to do trotting and cantering but beacause there were beginners in the group we only trotted ( which I understand) we trotted on the path a few times and the last trot was quite long. Romeo had a very speedy little trot. Once we got back we gave our horses a drink and untakced. This ride was very enjoyable and fun but my only negative thing is that some of the horses seemed quite skinny and malnourished. This put me off the horse ride as they only graze on grass which they need more than that. Some of the tack didn’t fit the horses very well either. I’m glad we only went for an hour ride for the horses sake. The owner does love his horses though but seems to think that what he feeds his horses is enough (which it isn’t) and that they need better fitted tack for some of them.
I hope that these horses will get fed more but also a very beautiful and fun ride.

A two hour ride through the Kep countryside sounds idyllic, but we were dismayed by the condition of the horses. Some were seriously malnourished. The level of care of the horses and tack (saddles, bridles) was substandard. I hope the owner takes this criticism to heart and does the right thing by these horses. Bring in feed for them; they need more than just grazing on grass around the property.

Exploitation un peu à cours d'énergie, la balade est sympa mais pas à tomber par terre.. On s'attendrait à plus de dynamisme et de découverte. Les chevaux sont bons et dociles. Nous avons été un peu déçus

The boys had a good time going on the 1 hour horse ride towards to Butterfly Gardens. I had stressed it was their first tine on a horse and was told there would be someone walking with them until they felt comfortable on the horse, this did not happen. Several times a horse stopped walking for several minutes and the boy was left behind feeling a little uncomfortable. Eventually, the leader came to encourage the horse to move. I understand horses stop and are like any other living thing and does not do what we want it to do but I again had hoped that there would be someone walking with them or checking in more. I would still recogmend horse riding in Keep but if taking an inexperienced young rider, you may want to walk or ride with (I walked) just to help them feel more comfortable.

I took the long horseback tour, about two or three hours. We went up the mountain to the Wat, then down to a small fishing village and back to the farm for a cold beer. I called them by phone and the owner answered instructing me just 'to go and somebody will be there". Indeed, a young friendly French woman greeted me and was excited i had come to ride. The horses are a bit stubborn, and it can be quite physical. Fun, adventurous and different. Actually one of the male horses kept trying to mount a mare when we got back and it was pretty wild to watch as the staff had to control them, which wasn't easy. Also lots of the abandoned villas of Kep are in this area. I also left the young woman a small tip which she seemed surprised to receive, but she earned it.

On arrive sur un très beau terrain où les chevaux sont en liberté et mangent à leur guise. Le propriétaire est adorable et très accueillant. Les chevaux sont très dociles et sont sélectionnés en fonction de nos niveaux (confirmé et débutant). La balade jusqu'à la pagode est agréable et adaptée au niveau des cavaliers, la visite de cette dernière aussi et la vue est très belle. L'accompagnatrice est au top ! Très souriante, rigolote et très ouverte à la discussion. Elle n'hésite pas à donner des conseils (en anglais) pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas l'équitation. De retour au ranch, une boisson rafraîchissante nous ai offerte. Nous avons pu prendre notre temps et flâner sur ce beau terrain ainsi que discuter avec Didier. Un moment zen et relaxant. Les chevaux et poneys sont vraiment mignons :)

what is the best way to get to the ranch from sihanoukville. is there accommodation.

From Sihanoukville, go to Kampot and the way to Kep.
In Kep, after the pier, turn on the left just before hospital. in this street, we have independance monument and continue 1km to the mountain. 097 847 4960

Bonjour, nous souhaitons faire cette balade sauf que je suis montée qu'une seule fois sur un cheval. Pensez vous que cela soit réalisable pour moi? Mon amie est une experte. Merci pour vos réponses

Bonjour, le Ranch a des chevaux tres dociles. C est ideal pour les debutants. Nous pouvons choisir une balade facile d 1heure ou 2 heures et essayer selon votre niveau de trotter ou d effectuer un petit galop. Reservations au 0978474960.
