Wonderful First Visit

Visiting there had been on my bucket list for many years. Went there for anniversary getaway in Hot Springs. We were not physically able to walk the grounds. However, we had a great driver in Lynn. She was so knowledgeable about the history of the garden and most importantly, she knows her plants. Enjoyed looking at the koi pond and the tree house. I’d do it again!

Relaxing day at the gardens

This was such a fun day spent walking in the gardens. There are paved trails, there are rocky trails that meander all through the gardens. We enjoyed the sounds of the waterfalls everywhere around. If you go to Hot Springs, you must go visit Garvan.

Worth the trip!

The gardens are gorgeous! While we were too late for flowers blooming, it was still beautiful. While it is a little pricey, we spent about 3 hours walking most of the trails, which are very well kept. I feel like it was worth the money. It was the highlight of our vacation for me, I’d definitely go back!

Great place

Wonderful place to visit and walk around. Leave yourself a good amount of time to explore. Always something new being planted for the season. And always ongoing improvements like the tree house and the fairy garden. Just wish the cafe would stay open longer for a post 3pm tea and a bit of cake.

Breathtaking tulips

Such a beautiful place. So much to do and see. It’s a ton of walking. We just happened to be there when the tulips were blooming. It was stunning. Will be back

Chapel closes for private events. Plan accordingly.

Be sure to ask if the chapel is actually open as they close to private events without telling you so then you end up paying for entrance and NOT seeing the chapel. Quite a bummer, as it was the main reason we were coming to the garden. The gardens are lovely though with many water features and trails down to lake Hamilton which was a nice touch.

A Must Visit When in Hot Springs

What an amazing place! We were here in second week of April. The peak Daffodil and Tulip season was passed. If we could plan our visit here again it would be for early March to take in that amazing color. As it was the Azaleas were in bloom and the flowering shrubs and trees were still in their glory. The manicured grounds were well maintained. The outcropping into the lake was nice to see as you had many water views to accompany the landscape.

They have 48 designated stops to observe on their map. We hit over 90% of them. The Anthony Chapel and Carillon were amazing. The treehouse would be a kid’s wonderland. The whole area of the Children's Gardens was so well done.

By time we were done walking the park we had spent over three hours and 6.2 miles according to our walking app. It is a nice leisure stroll observing the gardens and plants that flourish here. This is a wonderful botanical garden. For amazing color come in early March. We highly recommend these botanical gardens. Entry fee was $22 they do have an option to be driven around in a golf cart for an additional $20. If you visit the website there was an online option that saves you $2 on the entry fee.

Great gardens

Beautiful in April. We visited the Tuesday after Easter. We walked about 15,000 steps in the garden so know that it’s going to be a bit of walking.

The paths were clear and clean and well organized. We especially enjoyed the Japanese garden with the Koi pond, and we finished with Anthony Chapel. That was a great place to finish because there is a comfortable place to sit and gather yourself before heading home

That church….

We were there in early April, things were green but few blooms. The church is worth the stop. What a beautiful spot. I’d love to go back during peak season.

Beautiful!

Although not much was in bloom during our visit, the gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed all of the little waterfalls and the gorgeous views. The grounds are well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The peacock and two peahens were a fun surprise. We went at the end of the day so we only had two hours. We could have definitely spent another hour exploring. They are members of the American Horticultural Society reciprocity program so we visited for free which was awesome.
