I’m absolutely in love with this park. Walking the path with friends, checking out the sculptures was pretty fun. The entire park seemed to be so beautifully maintained. It’s such a warm, friendly, & refreshing place to visit. I witnessed nothing but couples, friends, and families enjoying themselves peacefully throughout the entire visit.
It’s a place to just breathe, and let the stress go…I’ll definitely be back.💜

The Botanical Gardens were the most beautiful place I visited in New Orleans. $12 admission which was very worth it. The gardens are magnificent with the most beautiful Waterlilies I have ever seen. The greenhouses are so fantastic and I loved every minute of our visit. I would recommend the gardens to anyone who is craving some peaceful meditation time as I knew it would be a party city but New Orleans never stops.

I really enjoyed my visit to the botanical gardens. The gardens are well laid out and well kept. The sculpture garden is sublime, my favourite was Adam and Eve! Great way to spend some quiet time.

I’m biased as we like parks and gardens. The New Orleans Botanical Garden is the perfect, quiet respite from the hustle of the city. The gardens are well laid out, each with its own charm. The tropical and pre-historic displays (in a building) are informative and interesting (does the Alligator Gar have a significant other?).
Combined with a visit to the City Park, the Sculpture Gardens, and the Art Museum, it’s a great day trip.

Granted, it was a gorgeous spring day, and this botanical garden did not disappoint. We spent about four hours and could have easily spent another four there. Storyland was closed as was their gift shop, but we still loved it.
Miniature train goes through a wonderful New Orleans-themed train garden. The trains run only on the weekends.

Since I’m now a New York Botanical Garden member, I also get free access to other member botanical gardens. When I first discovered this, I started looking at all the BGs around the US, hoping to make use of my membership. NOBG is a member garden, so we were both able to get in for free. If you’re not a member, the price is $12 per adult
We spent about 1.5 hours at NOBG. At 10 acres, there is a lot to see. Their conservatory is smaller than NYBG, but there are a ton of really nice flowers in there. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and if the weather is nice, it’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours. There are tons of benches under trees for shade and I can see myself coming here often just to hang out with some friends if I lived in the area.
It’s also conveniently located in City Park, right next to the art museum, which is free to visit.

While much smaller than other botanical gardens I’ve seen, these were very beautiful! Extensive herb / culinary garden that is interesting. I didn’t know just how many types of Sage there are! Gorgeous setting in the City Park. Highly recommend!

Incredible display of thousands of plants, from trees to flowers to succulents, and even vegetable gardens. We easily spent most of the afternoon here, and I still don't feel like I saw everything. Would make an amazing venue for a celebration, wedding, or photoshoots! Definitely planning to return soon.

I was very disappointed with my visit to the gardens on April 22 Earth Day.
They did not have any special events that day. The gardens had some flowers in bloom and as for the time of year I would have expected much more. The Japanese gardens was a big disappointment and I have never seen one such unkept. The positive was the walkways were very well arranged throughout. Looking at past reviews maybe I have just been spoiled in past botanical garden visits around the country. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder for me this garden and I was not impressed as a gardener myself.

the person before me said, it is not driveable but there is parking and although I didn't see it (we took a bus) I'm sure there are handicapped spots. It is wheelchair accessible. The sculpture garden is wonderful. enjoy your trip.

Yes! Ralph's on the Park is right there. Also, there is a cantina type restaurant in the park. Finally, the art museum has a cafe that has pretty good food.

This entry states that the gardens are closed on Mondays, but the website for the gardens shows as open daily. Are the gardens open or closed on Monday?

We will be staying at the Prytania Park Hotel on the St. Charles line in April. What is the best way to get to the botanical gardens via streetcar?

Take the streetcar from St. Charles to Canal and then down Canal to Carrollton. Stay on streetcar onto Carrollton and get off at City Park and then walk into the park to the Botanical Gardens. Very, very easy. Should take around 30 minutes. Canal is the widest boulevard in North America and a nice streetcar ride.
