This is paradise! There is a pianist playing when you enter the clubby room. The chairs and seating are all very comfortable and spacious. The cocktails are delicious and even better when you ask for the 3-tier tray with pork rinds, seasoned mixed nuts and the tastiest olives in NO.

The piano players are way too loud. Banging the keys just isn't the way to go. People cannot converse. Just close the lid on the piano. Check decibel levels too.

Visited two evenings in a row to listen to Bean 'N' The Boys. Elegant surroundings, helpful staff. Comfortable seating. Will return.

We were back in New Orleans for a medical symposium, and stayed over the Holidays, for a bit of a vacation. We spent some of our time at the Polo Club Lounge, in the Windsor Court Hotel, on the second floor.
The theme is that of an English country club’s bar, but with many New Orleans touches - though one might need to look for them. The Polo Club Lounge was still decorated for the Holidays, and it was joyous, especially as the weather had turned rather gloomy. This is a very comfortable, and welcoming space, and I like their wine list too. Even with the gloomy skies outside, we enjoyed the view from the bar, through a wall of glass, looking down upon Tchoupitoulas St. Besides the semi-divided seating, within the club, and the bar, there is also seating in a little ante-room, on the mezzanine, but we did not sit there, on either of these visits.
The space opens from both the second-floor mezzanine and from the fine-dining restaurant, the Grill Room. Besides the stairs to the mezzanine, there is a dedicated elevator from the lobby of the hotel, plus access via the main bank of elevators, to the side of the lobby - great, and easy access.
Before a previous visit, the space had been enlarged, and a “band stand” had been added to the Polo Club Lounge. We were there in the early afternoon, so did not really get to enjoy the nightly music, but did hear some good, soft jazz, when we dined next door one evening.
We enjoy the comfortable sofa seating a lot, but also sat at the bar one afternoon. Regardless of whether we had table service, or dealt with the bartenders, we had great experiences. Everyone is warm, friendly and very helpful.
During one of our visits, the restaurant’s Sommelier stopped by to say hello, and managed to get a couple of glasses of wine (opened the evening before), that were not on the wine list. That was a very nice touch. Since our previous visit, the wine list had changed a bit, with more focus on some lesser-seen varietals. Still, plenty to enjoy!
We started with two glasses of Schramsberg Napa Blanc-de-Blanc ‘14 sparkling wine (a holdover from the previous list), then moved to the Château d'Épiré Savennières (Chenin Blanc), which was a returning wine, plus the Domaine Laroche Saint Martin Chablis and then the Ramey Russian River Valley Chardonnay - both new to the list.
When we sat at the bar, we had the Cembra Pinot Grigio Trentino-Alto Adige, the Willamette Valley Vineyards Willamette Valley Riesling and the Trimbach Alsatian Riesling for whites, and the Laroche La Chevalier Pays D’Oc Pinot Noir, and the Les Cadrans de Lassegne Saint Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux - so, not your “everyday wine list,” and hardly any of “the usual suspects.”
On our next stay, we have pledged that we will take in the music one night.

The decor is simply beautiful - the staff are prompt and uplifting - the bar menu for both food and libation is excellent - as are the drinks. Add a lovely pianist playing jazz standards and you’ve got THE PERFECT SPOT!

We visited NOLA in 2012 and had drinks at The Polo Club Lounge. We were so hopeful it was still open and in business and were excited to find that it was. It is our favorite upscale pub in NOLA. The drinks are reasonable priced for NOLA but the setting is wonderful. The bar snacks they bring are wonderful. It is a great place to meet after a day of meetings to start the evening off right with a wonderful adult beverage in a spectacular setting.

This review is tailored for those interested in the Club level.
The hotel is lovely! Lobby and rooms are fresh and decorated beautifully. Fresh flowers, super clean. Lounge is functional but hardly luxurious compared to Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. You can hear Jazz music AND the TV from much of the lounge. Breakfast buffet is similar to a nice Delta Sky Club—not even close to the quality and variety at the RC. The food items are kept in a cramped little area. No self serve champagne. The parlor area is comfy but only if you want to listen to the loud TV. Forget about a quiet morning with the papers. They lock up tight at 9:30 pm. No stopping in for a coke or espresso and a cookie or Jordan almonds 24/7 like at RC.
Service everywhere is excellent. Lovely city and river views from the higher floors. If the club lounge had nicer and more varied breakfast offerings and some peace and quiet I would have rated WC 5 stars.

I've been going here monthly for 18 months.
I work all weekend when I'm here; so, I make a point of a Friday or Saturday evening visit.
The bartenders are great, they know how to mix the usual cocktails as well as specialty or less-well-known cocktails. They never disappoint.
I LOVE listening to Robin Barnes. She has a standing show on Friday and Saturday nights. The Piano player is the same gentleman every time. But the drum/bass/guitar/horn player will vary from time to time. There's no question that it's the Robin Barnes show. She has a great voice and sings traditional Jazz, NOLA Jazz, and many cajun/zydeco standards as well.
This is my favorite place to go. I recommend it to all my friends who visit.

We had a very nice experience listening to jazz and a vocalist. The surroundings were comfortably elegant. The small "bites" and drinks were very good. This is a place to relax and enjoy the music in a quiet welcoming environment.
