The most beautiful Japanese garden I have visited in the US. Helped that everything was in bloom! Nice setting within the Washington Arboretum. Best with car.

I visited a little too early in the Spring, but still an amazing garden....lovingly designed, gorgeous plants and shrubs...the gentleman at the front desk was super friendly

Located in one corner of the Arboretum, although you do have to effectively come out of the Arboretum and cross a road to access the garden, and there is also an entrance fee - $10 or $6 for Seniors over 65.
The garden is quite small but, in the way of Japanese gardens, there are multiple paths, stepping stones, steps and bridges to guide visitors around and give choice as to which way to turn next.
It is all very well kept and there are benches and seating everywhere for you to just sit and enjoy the scenery or to contemplate life.
One downside is that the road alongside the garden is relatively busy and the sound from it was quite distracting. If I were to visit again, then I think I would brave the strange looks and take some noise cancelling headphones to wear, to enable me to experience the garden as I am sure the planner intended.
We visited midweek during April, with changeable weather on that day, and the numbers of visitors was relatively low. I do think that in high season, the garden would feel quite crowded, quite quickly.

This garden is just ok. Beware it is very, very small, as it seems they have fenced off a section of it on the uphill side.
Better to stroll inside the Arboretum where it is endless; it is huge with majestic trees of different varieties such as magnolia, etc

Absolutely beautiful park, even in November. Bathrooms located right outside the main entrance. The entrance fee of $8 per person is reasonable. It's about a 20-30 minute walk from the Arboretum's visitors center to the Japanese Gardens.

Japanese Garden is a perfect place to find calm in Seattle. Koi pond. Lovely pond surrounded by cultivated trees. Worth a visit. Near UDub, Lake Washington, and the Montlake neighborhood. Easy to drive here.

This is a great place to take your family. We missed the koi feeding but you can still see a few kois swimming around if you're patient enough to sit around wait for them to swim by, we even saw a turtle. It was smaller than most Japanese Garden but thats because part of it was still being renovated but the overall experience was good. Admission price wasn't too bad either ($8 for adults).

The Japanese garden was a quiet oasis in the middle of the city. We rode the #8 bus and then walked about half a mile to the garden. It was just the right size to walk and wasn’t crowded at all. It’s across the steeet from the Seattle Aboretum. The foliage is beautiful and it was nice to go someplace that wasn’t so busy. There were even koi and a couple of turtles swimming around

I love a Japanese garden, and this is a very good one. You can see it in about 20 minutes, so if you are not a garden fan, the entrance fee may be high for you. There are many good seats to relax and enjoy the garden for much longer. There are koi and turtles too : )
