Fun place to browse. Great source for cheeses, French butter, spanish meats, almonds, wine, port, sherry, etc.

This place is right down hill from the spice market and a great find. Its neighbor is a Madrid market that sells Spanish fare. I come to this market to get the Iberican ham and Brie cheeses. They have a great range of meats and cheeses from cow, to goat, to sheep. You can sample many of them and get advice on what fits your needs.
The selection of wines and other fare is great! Duck fat to lavender soaps to French themed plates and cookware.

Years ago, when The Spanish Table disappeared from the Seattle market scene, I was a bit sad. I'd gotten my first Paella pan there and many other wonderful things. But what emerged - a Spanish-French hybrid grocery - is even better! You can get high-end Jamon, beautiful French cheeses, wonderful wines and even items such as frozen foie gras lobes, escargot shells and snails, and many other wonderful things. I wish this was around the corner from my home.

This well-stocked shop on Western Avenue likely brings in many Francophiles with its French products. But I find it fun to browse through its quality merchandise to select gifts for friends and family or sometimes cheese (dozens of possibilities) for myself. Bottles of wine abound. Food-related items include charcuterie, escargot, mustard, olive oil, pates, chocolates, caramel and the list goes on and on. I recently barely resisted a can of lobster soup with the oh-so-basic instructions of heat and add a little cream. But I think I may return for that and perhaps the duck leg confit with duck fat.
Books with a focus on French cooking line shelves. Brightly colored Tunisian ceramics beckon near the entrance. Greeting cards appear here and there and classy made-in-France tea towels attract the eye. I couldn't resist a classic blue and white one ($22.99) when I stopped by simply to look around. And best of all, staff here are always friendly and helpful.
The location provides another draw. Though Paris Grocery stands in the general Pike Place Market area, it is away from the shuffling crowds. Take the elevator from the main (6th floor) down to Western and head to nearby 1418. It is possible to walk down the avenue, too, but I find that unpleasant with the current construction that is under way here.

This place is great. Excellent selection of wine, tea, treats, and other goodies from France. At the deli counter you will find meats and cheeses from Spain, France and the USA. We got quite a selection while we were there and even a little to go picnic selection which was great. We got to sample a lot of the items and the person behind the counter was able to suggest items based on what we liked and disliked. They just need to have an attached cafe and we would have been in heaven.

I love this little shop. If you are visiting Seattle when the sun is shining, skip out all the tourist traps restaurants by the water and instead pick up the ingredients for a beautiful picnic. Lovely selection of cheese and wine and other non alcoholic drinks. As a local, I stop by for my fix of Toulouse sausage to make cassoulet, or cultured French butter for baking or for just slathering on a baguette with some salt. There is also authentic French glassware and serveware to drool over. Did I mention I love shopping here?

I stumbled across this place by chance. I had been to Paris in August and was interested in obtaining some things to make French dishes. The are well stocked, the help was great and I found two great French cookbooks!!! The also have a deli with some hard to find items.
