Amazing expérience that we will never forget! I went twice with my parents, children and friend and all of us loved it! Everybody is so kind, all the informations are so interesting and the truffles … spectacular!

Honestly my favorite part of my month-long vacation. The guys are entertaining but also I learned a lot. Adorable (yet hardworking) puppies and of course to taste the freshest truffle I could ever imagine. I’ve had truffles in Croatia but this was different. A truly wonderful way to spend the morning. I loved it so much I adopted a tree!

Our family spent 4 weeks in France in Nov/Dec 2022. One of the most memorable and enjoyable highlights was the truffle hunting experience. In writing this review and reflecting on this with our family, It is the experience that we spend the most talking about and explaining the absolute excitement of the hunt, the food experience, the knowledge we gained, the beautiful surrounds and the listening to Johanns passion and love for his farm, family and industry.
This is a ‘bucket list’ item. Highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful week in Provence with friends and this tour was one of the highlights! Johann knows his truffles. His interesting and informative tour gave us the confidence to purchase, cook with and consume truffles like a pro. We would highly recommend this tour!

Loved our experience at Les Pastras! Johann was engaging, funny, informative and spoke wonderful English. The dogs were so cute and it was so fun to watch them find summer truffles. And the champagne and truffle tasting was great! Highly recommend!

The truffle hunt was both fun and informative and Johann is the perfect guide to the world of truffles. We totally enjoyed the history, economics and agriculture information that was shared. Did I mention we tasted truffles and champagne at the conclusion. This is a must if you are in the area.

We spent a wonderful week in Provence, and our truffle hunting tour at Les Pastras was a highlight. Wonderful hosts, great dogs, and it was very educational too. The post-hunt tasting session was amazing. I highly recommend including this as part of your trip.

They just love truffel and transferring their passion to guests. It is not just about the precious “mushroom”, or about the farming. It is about so much more: the love to nature, to the dogs, to good food and to people!
I will surely recommend it to friends and family. One of the best activities I have done in Provence!!

We weren’t quite sure what to expect from this activity and we were totally impressed and pleased with how it went. It was very well organised and the group size was just right. It was such a fun thing to do but we learnt so much as well! We would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the area. It took us an hour to get there and was totally worth it!! Lovely to meet the truffle dogs and the champagne and truffle snacks afterwards were excellent. There isn’t a lot of walking so it would be an easy activity for most people.

Visiting Les Pastras in late June, with another couple, was the highlight of our 3 week holiday in France.
Johann gave us the most informative and interesting overview of the truffle industry – including the science, harvesting and marketing. We watched as his well trained dogs, led by Jean-Marc, found many truffles.
After our truffle hunt, Johann treated us to the most delicious truffles with cheese, champagne and organic honey infused truffle ice cream on his outdoor patio.
Booking the tour was very easy and Johann sent emails, prior to our visit, to ensure we had the proper directions. Note: Allow an additional 30 minutes travel time to make certain you arrive on time.

Thank you for your questions. Our truffle hunting experience is only in English. The minimum number of guests is 2. If you are a solo traveler you can join a tour with other visitors. We also other private tours, if possible, but please contact us by email for more information.

Dear rsbender,
Thank you for your interest in truffle hunting at Les Pastras. Here is a short description of our activity:
Our truffle hunts are only on weekdays. The tour last at least 3 hours. First you will learn, only in English, how truffles are growing, how to farm them, and hunt them. Then we will go with two dogs on the search of the precious tuber. After we have found some, hopefully, you will discover the rest of our property with wild herbs, vineyards, olive groves and beehives. We return to our outdoor kitchen, to eat three different hors d'oeuvre with truffles, truffle ice cream with truffle honey, tasting of our organic extra-virgin olive oil, truffle oil and truffle salt, with all you care to drink Champagne. During the tasting you will learn how to buy truffles and truffles products, clean them, store them and prepare them. The cost is 70 euros per adult and 50 euros for kids (10 to 17).
In the summer usually are tours start at 6pm. Please let us know when you will be in our region so we can give you our availabilities (days & time).
