The Smith farm is a representation of a slaveholding farm of the 19th century. The farmhouse had a bunch of cool things in it: a spinning wheel and loom, and some old toys (which visitors are encouraged to play with)
Aside from the farmhouse, the farm also has several historic out buildings which were actually moved to the spot for preservation. So you can walk through an old cabin used for slave quarters, a smokehouse, a workshop/forge, a barn, a summer kitchen and also several gardens as they probably looked at the time. To the children’s delight, the farm also has live animals: goats, chickens and turkeys.

Children will probably enjoy visiting this farm. There are some animals, a very small house where you only visit the first floor, a kitchen where they were doing a cooking demonstration the day we were there, and slave quarters. We spent about 15-20 minutes and that’s only because we chatted a while with the woman doing the cooking demonstration.

While visiting the Atlanta History Center we walked back to the Tullie Smith Farm which was interesting, but could be so much more with a little more signage and/or a printed guide. There was a volunteer at the house who was very informative, but a few more people to explain the other buildings would have been useful. I am sure that a guided tour would have been even better.

It was hard to focus on the historic barns and farm house because the young long haired goats were so playful and just plain cute. Turkeys, sheep and chickens are also in a true farm setting in the middle of this bustling city. Touring the farm and grounds is enhanced by a visit to the adjoining history center and Swan House mansion. This is a must visit for families with children or Southern History buffs.

Following a visit to gone with the wind house we purchased a dual ticket for swan house and Tullie Smith Farm, these are original wooden buildings which had two ladies in costume dresses talking about and taking you back in time during the Civil War, at times you felt like you had gone back in time, the ladies were fantastic, unfortunately we did not have time to visit swan house and the museum so I would recommend visit over two days.

Excellent. House and out buildings are very well preserved and furnished. Docent was very knowledgeable and interesting as he told stories of the Smith family. I think this would be a great place for children to visit.

Tullie Smith Farm is on the grounds of the Atlanta Hitory Center. It includes a family farm home, smoke house, detached kitchen, blacksmith quarters and a garden. There were a few goats and sheep on the property...smelly. If you are visiting the Atlanta History Center and the Swan House, take a few minutes to walk over and enjoy the farm house.

Cette ferme du XIXe siècle à été replacée dans le parc. Typique de son époque avec un porche et "rocking chair", pièce principale, chambre et chambre d'hotes. La cuisine est à l'extérieur pour protéger la demeure principale des incendies. Autour de la ferme, quelques moutons et des potagers. Une grange avec des outils de forgeron et charpentier termine la visite.

Swung through here while exploring the Swan House. If you go to the visitor's center, there's a ticket for purchase that includes this, The Swan House, History Center, and a couple other things (I think tickets are recommended, not required). Very picturesque farm house with pretty plants around the picket fence, staff attired in traditional costumes. Musician on the front porch greeted us kindly and kept in character while we were there. House was quite small to walk through but was lightly furnished with some typical historical contents. Other buildings included a sheep pen (so cute!), blacksmith's workshop, slave's quarters, etc. Loved the garden, which was in very good condition.
An increase in the amount of informative signs might be a nice touch to help inform the public about details of farm life.

A smaller family farm that had about 12 slaves (more typical than the "Tara" plantation model.) Excellent history of the rise and fall of slavery in Georgia. In costume docents are around the farm, but finding them actually doing their work is hit or miss.
