We were looking for a inside activity on a cool day in CC and enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Science and History. Broad variety of subject matter and lots of hands on displays to keep the kids entertained, very family friendly. Some of the displays need to be updated, like the power generation/energy display which was based on data from the 90's, but overall found it very interesting.

Fun for Kids

This is a fun museum for kids. I'm not a huge fan of museums but still enjoyed it. My husband loves museum and really liked this one. There was a fun scavenger hunt for kids to complete. There is a fun play area and it doesn't take extremely long to go through the entire museum.

Much improved in the last few years. Loved the ship info and all the minerals. The little storefronts and jail and train station area was really fun. The Indian section and cannons and weapons was very entertaining and educational. Too bad the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria replicas had to be moved. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because some of the signage needs to be redone and some of the lighting is poor. But we enjoyed it and will be back in a few years.

OLD AND BORING!!

Boring!!!!! I last visited 10 yrs ago. And not a thing has changed. Oh wait, yes. The equipment is worse today. The same equipment/kids zone toys, exhibit are still there; it’s Missing parts, missing chunks of paint, severely worn, smelly. Not a single upgrade in over 10 yrs. sad😞

We took our 9 year old daughter to the museum and she had a great time. The staff provided her with a scavenger hunt at the beginning of the visit. We had so much fun looking at the exhibits and looking for the items on the hunt. There was a great planetarium video that we also watched. There was a small renovation but it didn't take away from the experience. There were a lot of interesting exhibits that we all enjoyed. My daughter asked to go back when we return to Corpus Christi.

The science and history museum doesn't look like much from the outside and finding the entrance is a challenge if coming from the art museum but it's actually pretty good. It punched well above its weight. Very kid-friendly. Fascinating collection on the history side.

Wow, way better than expected!

We ended up spending almost all day. Surprising variety of subjects and all told with great depth. If you love history, keep reading the placards as much as possible and watch all the videos. If not so much, the exhibits are still all well done, well maintained and all interesting. Great job!

My husband and I decided to take our two boys (ages 17 and 6) to the museum whilst visiting Corpus.

They are doing construction around the main parking lot so there's another one to park at by the museum.

Staff is friendly at this museum, and the museum is kept very clean.

My son enjoyed the science part of the museum as there's a few hands on activities he can do. One or two of the exhibits were broken while we were there though. He enjoyed the outside playground too.

They did give him a paper for a scavenger hunt, and he got to pick a prize after completing it. He did get bored of the "grown up" parts of the museum and wanted to go back to the kids' section.

The rest of the exhibits are interesting especially if this is your first time visiting the museum. When we went to this museum the first time many years ago, they had actors portraying people from back in the day in the old timey section. However, they weren't there this time. I don't know if they don't do the actors anymore or if it's just a weekend or seasonal thing. (We went on a Tuesday in October.)

My oldest son really enjoyed everything the most. His favorite exhibit was the one talking about Selena.

The gift shop isn't expensive either which makes a change from most gift shops. Everything is decently priced and won't make you break the bank.

Definitely give this museum a visit if you're in the area.
