This ferry is terrible, the crew members are very rude and don’t know how to communicate with passengers and more over they are racist !!!

We had a great time taking the ferry from Providence to Newport! Seats are comfortable! Drinks and snacks are available for purchase on board. Great way to see bridges, beautiful homes, light houses, ships, sailboats and more!!!

What a lovely, perfect, relaxing cruise. We have been on 23 cruises and since March, we can’t go on a “real” cruise. So, we thought this would be nice. We live between Providence and Newport, so it was really the boat ride. The crew could not have been nicer. It was the perfect day -80 degrees and sunny. The River was like a duck pond and the experience was totally relaxing. I don’t think I have enjoyed something more for so little money. Will definitely go again. The employees all practiced and required current safety requirements. Thank you.

1 hour trip, that was simple and easy to use. The ride was smooth, staff efficient. Had pre-booked tickets, and one of the legs I needed to change the time of departure, which the staff were more than accommodating.

Everything went well. It is a clean ship with friendly people. We enjoyed a smooth ride across and enjoyed the scenery along the way.

Seastreak bus picked us up near hotel. The actual ferry ride from provedence to newport was nice and took about an hour. On the return from Newport back to Providence were told there would be shuttle waiting to take us back to downtown Providence. Well, that didnt happen, after about 10 mins in kind of a sketchy part of town and no shuttle in sight made call to Seastreak and they seemed to be confused about any shuttle service offered? Ended up spending $15 to get back to hotel.

We drove from Providence to Newport one day and took the ferry round trip the next. The ferry was absolutely the best way to go, avoiding heavy traffic and dropping you right in the busy Newport harbor area where you can easily get an Uber to the mansions or other sites. The trip itself is invigorating!

Very reasonable. no worries about driving in Newport or parking. Drop off is great location close to everything. Beautiful ride past lighthouses, beaches and the Newport Bridge. Great way to see Rhode Island from the water.

We booked ferry to Marthas Vineyard months before due travel date but due to Hurricane Dorian travel was in doubt. Arrived at terminal and reassured trip will go ahead until 15 mins before departure when cancelled as no available berth on the Vineyard. No fault of Seastreak and am glad to say that they immediately provided a full refund of ticket cost and valet parking fee with an apology. Very dissapointed not to travel but would return if in this area again as excellent service provided in adversity

BETWEEN PROVIDENCE & NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND
Operating seasonally May 24 - October 14, 2019. $11 One way ($22 RT). Current schedule:
• Departing Providence: 9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm
• Departing Newport: 11:00am, 2:00pm, 6:30pm
Our party of three greatly enjoyed the one-hour ferry from Providence to Newport. The ferry offers indoor seating and outdoor seating on the deck upstairs. The ferry provides great views, especially from the outside deck. It departed on-time in both directions. We took the ferry in September, and it was quiet on the 12:30 outbound, but very busy on the 6:30pm return, coinciding with the end of the International Boat Show in Newport (the boat show is quite awesome). I would assume the ferry gets very busy in the summer months.
Their website says that “Seastreak is a leader in revitalizing fast passenger ferry services in the New York metropolitan area. We proudly offer high-speed catamaran services to points in Manhattan, central New Jersey, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and more with a fleet of robust vessels.” And they also operate a seasonal ferry service between New Bedford and Martha’s Vineyard.
Instead of staying in Newport in the summer for example, you can stay in Providence and take the ferry to Newport for the Jazz Festival, Cliff Walk, etc. Assuming our trip was indicative of their typical service, we’d be happy to do this any time.

I didn't see a route from Providence to Newport on your online schedule. I will be there the weekend of June 8th, will there be ferry service?
