Attended an art show that had live music. Nice gallery with high quality artwork. Recommend visit to this local gallery.

I recently got a chance to visit the Etherton Gallery in an effort to see Paul Hart’s exhibit, The Fens.
I was quite impressed, not only with Mr. Hart’s work, but with the gallery itself, and the helpful gallery manager who guided me directly to the photos I had come to see.
The establishment is as beautiful as the art work itself, and I certainly hope to return again someday soon.

If you are an art aficionado or a culture vulture and you neglect to visit Etherton Gallery while you are in Tucson, then you really shouldn't say you went to Tucson at all! It is a showcase for the city. Recently relocated to a new gallery near the Agustin Mercado, it is truly a gem in the desert. The inventory is large and compelling, representing some of the great luminaries of contemporary photography in particular, but also including other media. There is always an exciting exhibit on display like a recent stunner of a Joel Peter Witkin retrospective. And I cannot give enough compliments to Terry Etherton, the proprietor, and his savvy and cordial staff. It is a unique experience to walk in the door - you are always greeted with fine art in a friendly and accessible environment, and I never leave without a robust conversation about matters art with Terry or a staff. These folks have been knowing what to do in a gallery for 40 years.

If you love photography, the Etherton Gallery is a gem not to be missed when visiting Tucson. We have visited multiple times over the years, and have hit on some fantastic exhibitions. The staff, and Terry in particular, could not be more helpful and pleasant. We look forward to returning again soon.

Their exhibits of course change so you might want to check their website before you go to ensure you are interested in what is currently showing but in general it is really high caliber stuff so you should not be disappointed. They have a parking lot with the on 6th ave.

I haven’t been to the gallery in a few years and this visit reminded me of what a gem it is. The exhibitions are always a pleasure to see and the current one is no exception.

Terry Etherton has taken advantage of Tucson’s reputation as one of the top repositories for fine art photography (The Center for Creative Photography is near enough.) The gallery (upstairs and next door to Chef Jano’s Downtown Restaurant) is a true wonder of the world and you won’t want to leave. Top artists. Best work. See their website before going. The gallery also installs fine art photos at local venues like the Owl Club, Downtown, others. Always spectacular. If you are lucky you will visit during an opening or the like, then head out to Downtown or Penca’s or some other nearby restaurant to celebrate your expanding collection. If you are a naturalist like me, head over to La Cocina Kitchen, a walk but a nice one, and sit under a tree while dining. If new to town, walk up 6th to Congress then transverse it from Maynard’s inside the Train Depot, stop in the Hotel Congress and see the penny floor in the cafe, then walk the length stopping as you will, but definitely stopping in the Fox Theatre (wow) before heading toward the art museum, or old town with La Cocina, or to the original Charros for Mexican dining.

Must have walked by this gallery dozens of times and never knew it was there. It is upstairs off of 6th Ave. There is a small parking lot on the north side of the building. I went during the Jack Dykinga Grand Canyon exhibit. Amazing pictures. Really friendly staff.
