Dinner was terrific , Service impeccable and spectacular views cruising lower Narragansett Bay and Newport Harbor. Well worth it.

Spectacular! A perfect way to tour Newport Harbor and watch the sunset. We toured past Ft. Adams, deep into Brenton cove to view some rarely seen mega million dollar homes tucked away from the public, J/24 racing (always exciting when they round the marks in this competitive fleet), the Oliver Hazard Perry tall ship, and a special treat since they were in town - the gorgeous J Class boats. The app's were delicious (the goat cheese and fig in phyllo dough was my favorite) and the cocktail selection nice. The boat is very steady and has a nice and spacious protected area in case you get a little chilly after the sun goes down. It was also fun to have access to bow and have great visibility to see everything!

A great time was had by all! A charming boat and an attentive staff guides your around Newport Harbor, passing some of the perineal yachts. If you land a clear night, the sunsets are amazing.
The boat was clean, the food was good and the drinks were generous!

We did a private charter for a friend's birthday and had a wondergful time! The staff were fantastic and the sunset harbor cruise was perfect. Super accommodating to our larger group (24) and all special requests. Great service and experience!

Such a great sunset cruise on the Mermaid Star. We had to reschedule our reservation as one often does when they have young children, and they were gracious and accommodating. Everything worked out perfectly. The food was delicious. The crew was friendly and informative. It was a perfect way to end a day in Newport.

I had the pleasure of having a fantastic dinner and a sightseeing cruise around Newport harbor and the bay on this charming vessel which was nicely decorated. The crew was friendly and attentive. The salad was crisp and fresh, the chicken was excellent and the seasonal vegetables were delicious . The choice for dessert was cheesecake with strawberries and a tiramisu cake . I had the cake which was very tasty. There is a cash bar with a good selection of drinks.

My husband and I went out for a sunset cruise. We wanted to have a nice meal and get a good tour of the harbor which is surprisingly difficult to do in Newport. The boat is a classic tug boat style, full of just enough personality! The food was excellent, can't recommend the Thai curry meatballs and jasmine rice enough! The crew were awesome, jovial and pleasant. They were all very accomplished sailors who seemed to be truly enjoying sharing Newport with us. We have sailed a lot in the area but got one of the best sunset views onboard!

Being a merchant Marine the last thing I want to do is be on the water. But my experience with the crew and host was absolutely amazing! They made every effort to make sure everything was perfect. I know it's not easy to organize dinner on a boat but they did an excellent job the food was amazing! Also the crew was very knowledgeable about local folklore. We had a family reunion so this boat is the perfect venue for any gathering. I highly suggest chartering this boat. Plenty of room and a comfortable atmosphere. Well done.

My friends and I booked a lunch cruise for July 15, 2017 as part of a day out on the town in Newport, RI for a bachelorette party. When we arrived, we were informed that they did not have our reservations despite the fact that we all had gotten confirmation emails. And I say reservations, not reservation because we all booked separately. That meant they missed 6 reservations, not one group booking. Luckily the owner was there and she made calls to get a crew and went out to shop so we could have a meal.... two hours later than originally scheduled. Needless to say, we were all prepared to eat at noon and were hungry so we ended up stopping at a nearby pub for some drinks and a snack to hold us over. When we finally were ready to depart, the crew was very nice which is why this is getting a poor rating and not terrible. The boat is very small and looks like a barge with an awning attached but they decorated it fairly nicely. I have been on larger dinner cruise boats that look more like a yacht. We were served fried chicken salad, macaroni salad, turkey and cheddar sandwiches on crusty bread and a plate of mini cannoli's and mini fruit tarts. Drinks were coke products and some liquors/wine for purchase at a cash bar. Unfortunately the very nice woman on board who filled in was not exceptionally knowledgeable about the harbor and said we seemed to know more about the area than she, The only place to view the sea outside is on the bow of the boat which would only hold about 10 people comfortably. No outside seating. Then about a half hour into our cruise, we were told that we should eat because the sea was a bit rough and they were going back into the harbor. The cruise ended exactly one hour after it began when we had booked for a two hour tour. Clearly we did not get what we paid for and despite having written to them a few days ago suggesting a partial refund was in order due to the cut short tour and very late wait time, I have not heard back from the company. There are better boats and companies in Newport to use if a dinner cruise is what you are looking for. I know, I have been on them for other parties. This is my first major disappointment in the area.,

Thank you so much for your review. Our reservation system did in fact fail. As stated on the website, we require 10 to sail. The reservation system failed in that it should have cancelled the cruise automatically. We have since corrected the issue so that the system will correct and cancel short bookings. I am glad that we were able to provide your group with a private lunch to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. I am glad that you enjoyed the food. We wish the best for the soon to be new couple.
