Very down to earth, professional and fun experience. Excellent instructor. We learned at an easy spot and could get up on the board on our first wave.

We were looking for beginner surf lessons on our vacation in Waikiki. I checked into Kai Sallas’ Surf Lessons since they had so many great reviews on Trip Advisor. Prices were competitive so we booked a group lesson for 2 adults and 4 minors (10-12). Our instructor, Jake, was awesome and all of us were up on our first wave! Jake talked to all of the kids about their sports and his life surfing. He was very personable with our group and really cared about teaching techniques and getting the most of our experience. We had a great time and all members of our group caught so many waves during our 2 hour window. Highly recommend Jake and his team at

Had a really great experience taking a surf lesson with Kai. He was calm, patient and very supportive. Would recommend and would take a lesson here again hands down.

Had an Awesome Hawaiian surfing experience with Kai Sallas' Pro Surf School Hawaii.
I booked for a group lesson and managed to get a quiet day with 2 instructors and only 1 other student. We were taken to a quieter beach in Waikiki away from the crowds that had more of a locals feel. My family was able to come along too and watch my lesson from the beach. Everything we required for the lesson was provided (boards,rashies,reef shoes). The 2 instructors were very professional but extremely laid back which made the experience seem like we were getting taught by mates. The instructors truly enjoyed their job and were as happy as we were when we managed to catch a couple of waves. The experience was made even more special by seeing turtles on our paddle out. I would definitely recommend this as a must have Hawaiian experience!

I went with my 9 year old nephew and my 11 year old niece and it was great! I didn't have the best feeling going into this experience and I was even more nervous when we pulled up to a (seemingly) random spot on the beach and this was the surf school.
I had been a bit nervous because of the safety issues but all the staff stressed safety and I actually felt confident we would be safe, after the initial talk.
We were a semi private lesson which meant the 3 of us (myself, niece and nephew ) with one instructor.
Our instructor's name was Brooks and he immediately impressed us- he stressed safety as well. He made a massive difference in our experience - without him I don't think we would have had such an awesome experience. He was patient and competent and worked really well with my niece and nephew. He was super positive and encouraging and very strong!
We all loved him -if you go ask for Brooks he is the best.
They provided us with water shoes and a surf board and an experience of a lifetime!

My 5.5 year old daughter and I took a private surf lessons with Kai and Lowen today and had an amazing time. She stood up and caught on immediately. It took momma a little longer but they were super patient and I finally got the hang of it. The beach was very private and the waves were perfect. The kiddo now wants to be a professional surfer!

Group lessons were a blast and we learned so much! Very professional and patient, but still laid-back and enjoyable! Had a small lesson on the basics and then went out to a private beach area to surf. They provided rash guards and the boards! Would highly recommend!

My husband and I wanted to try surfing while visiting Oahu and we were so glad we did. It was so much fun, our instructor Jake was fantastic, and we haven't stopped talking about it since. The location was great, as you can stand in the water if you are tired from paddling and take a break before catching the next wave. We would book again with the school in a heartbeat when we go back to Oahu.

Group lesson - 5 people - 3 instructors. Great time. We had private area on beach (a VERY rare thing in Wakik) where instructors were great. Jake made it all enjoyable. Many waves with no danger of hitting anyone- better than Maui experience for that.

How soon should we get the pictures made during the surfing lesson. If they do not come as expected how do we contact to get them sent?

Please call us at 808-343-9667 or email us with your last name and date of your lesson and we will resend your link.
We usually send the photos the day after the lesson, if you haven't received them by then it is possible that the email went to your spam box or we have the wrong email address.

They didn't print them for us. They emailed me a lot no to a Dropbox folder with our pics. He took about 20.
