Great start to surf for beginners.

This was my first time i have tried to surf and these guys were amazing! Especially Ama and Akiler ( i hope that it is written correctly 😅), they were patient, they motivated me to do my best and be more relaxed and enjoyed the waves. Also everyone in this team was so much calm, chill and had really great vibes, still smile on their faces. Unfortunatelly i had short time in Weligama, but it was the best time i spent in Sri Lanka ;) 🤙

Наш первый серфинг. Ама — супер!

Серфили впервые. Классные ребята работают, хорошие доски. Встали с первого раза.
Мы серфили с Роханом и Сантой. Очень понравилось. Остальные инструкторы тоже очень приятные и приветливые.
Немного поранилась в воде, обработали ранку :)
Отрабатывают максимально, даже немного знают русский 🔥

Amazing Ama Surf School!

An amazing 10 days of surfing with the Ama Surf school! The team were excellent at catering for the diverse age range within our family (from 9 years old to 48!). Our instructors were knowledgable, patient, experienced and made every session fun and engaging. Their organised lessons allowed us to challenge ourselves, whilst always feeling safe. We learnt so much and really progressed.

Santa, Madu, Achi, Sami and the whole team had infectious enthusiasm, despite their long hours in the water with us, and left a remarkable impact with us, particularly on our children who now have a deep love for surfing and Sri Lankan culture and theyare an absolute credit to the Surf School.

Thank you guys and we will be back very soon! Becky Williams & Family.

Ama surf school is by far the best surf place I’ve ever been to in Asia. I am glad and honoured to have meet this amazing bunch for 3 surf classes. I had Achi as my surf instructor and my husband had Sami. We felt extremely welcomed and safe under their watchful eyes. They are super attentive, patient and always so smiley. It’s so admirable at how hard they work, despite have back to back classes from other customers, they put so so much effort, care and kindness in every classes. They are very well equipped with great knowledge and super passionate about your learning. Constantly provide us with tips and boost of confidence. I was disappointed with myself when I failed to ride a surf but Achi will always reward me with a bright smile regardless and remind me to calm down :)! Only after first class we upgraded from foam board to hard board comfortably, that was a great win for us! We definitely miss them already and the entire team were such a great family. I 100% recommend that you try Ama surf school and I’d promise you that you will come back! We met young boys, teenagers, adults that keeps coming back! Parents trust the surf instructors enough to have their kids coming back on their own every day!

Surf GURU'S

My girlfriend want to get a surf lessons in weligama , first place we went to get a lesson was a terrible place.

Finally we found the " SURF GURU'S" in weligama. They have Qualified instructor's form ISA, and speak English so well , compare to surfnlanka guys.
I can say this guy's are pro surfer and teachers with good costumer care .they always welcome you with big smile .finally my girlfriend happy after from surf lessons with this guy's( I surf years and frist time I saw some one explain A to Z about basic theory and after every lesson they show what my girlfriend did wrong on the water and fix the mistakes)

Thank you guy's we will back soon. Keep up with your good work and the surf vibe. Again thanks to ama and the Crew.

Beginner lessons

I took my first ever surf lessons at Ama Surf School. The instructor Sippu was the best! He was patient, gave good instructions and most importantly he made surfing fun! A lot of respect for being in the water for all those hours! I hope to come back one day!

Excellent, patient instructor

One of the most fun and rewarding experience of my life! As a first time surfer in my late twenties, I was nervous about trying new sport. However, the instructor, Rohan, provided great instruction on how to stand, and I was able to actually surf during my first lesson. I then booked two more lessons, both with him, and felt like I made real progress. Rohan speaks English well enough to teach and answer questions. He also gave me safety tips and made sure I was ok in the water. 10/10 would recommend
