Small village at the Lake ferry stop. Little tourism and few permanent residents. Alleys that climb towards the village proper and descend towards the piers and the few bathing areas. Worth a visit for a couple of hours.

It is a picturesque old village town and is located on Lake Lugano at the foot of Monte bre. From there when you get by ferry you have to climb over many stairs to walk through the picturesque streets and climb high to the main street And from you can go to see the area with the olives or go to the top of the mountain Monte Bre It has a lot of walking and many stairs

What a beautiful historic village, right on Lake Lugano. The most famous picture of Gandria is taken from the boat, although wandering around the narrow streets is very pleasant.
Atmosphere: wonderful
To recommend: definitely: (can be reached on foot from Lugano in 40 minutes, then you can take the bus back to Lugano

Definitely the worst place seen in the canton of Ticino... unkempt and nothing special.
Lugano, Ascona, Morcote, Locarno, Bellinzona etc are worth it, this little village full of stairs is dull and poorly maintained, too bad.

Certainly a cute village tumbling down the hillside. Lots of stairs if you like them but in reality not a lot that's unusual if you've spent time in this part of the world. If you're time is limited I wouldn't put in top of your 'to-do' list, but if you do make sure you don't drive past it. In effect there's nothing to see from the road. You need to find the carparks at the top and walk down.

La sponda del Lago di Lugano, lato Gandria, fino a Porlezza, offre la possibilità di lunghe passeggiate nel sentiero che lo costeggia. Una boccata di ossigeno tra la natura, consigliato!

Davvero un bellissimo paesino che si trova a pochi minuti di autobus dal centro di Lugano oppure tramite una gita sulla barca sul lago. E' un gita che vi consiglio caldamente di fare perché è un luogo davvero magico: le sue viuzze ricordano un vecchio passato ancora molto attuale. vi consiglio di fare una bella passeggiata e magari fermarvi a mangiare qualcosa in uno dei ristoranti di zona.

A long haul from Lugano through traffic that crawled for a long time probably impacted this review. The town itself is not particularly unique. The hugging of the lake is similar to many other towns and I'm not sure that I would recommend someone staying at Lugano to expel the effort to get here.

Die Überfahrt per Schiff ist wunderschön. Das Dörfchen auch. Alles sehr eng, was für uns mit unseren zwei Junghunden mühsam war. Weit und breit keine Wiese zum Pipi machen 😩. Aber sonst ein sehr schöner Ausflug 😎

Hidden gem just outside of Lugano. Tiny little fishing village with little swimming spots along the water front. I took the ferry to Gandria and walked back. Beautiful walk along the Olive Trail.
