The last time I rode this was back in the 80s with my grandad, for nearly 10 years we rode this every Saturday throughout the season as they owned a caravan in towyn, my grandad has long since gone and our last minute holiday to towyn seemed the great chance to show my family the train and create new memories.
Well it was certainly emotional riding it again and my 7month old loved it, she didn’t stop smiling all the way round and I remember having that same smile, it’s a lovely little journey and relaxing there’s just something about it, I hope it’s here for many years to come and other children get to enjoy it, thank you for helping create some new memories and allowing me to introduce it to my little girl

Great for a family and for a good day out . There was a train ride that took around 2-3 minutes and a museum and the tickets were very appealing . Definitely a must go if you come across

Lovely little outing whilst holidaying. My daughter loved the train ride and even more so, crabbing on the marine lake afterwards. Good clean fun.
Car park was tricky to find, sat nav directs you to a kind of round about at the front but there are ballards to the entrance there, you have to go down the side street instead around the back.

Railway is run by few enthusiasts, nice atmosphere, had to wait for 15 minutes as we came at about 11 am which is probably the busiest time. Train journey took 7-10 minutes I’d say, it’s lovely to go around the lake. I like the idea that people who service the trains keep 100 years old trains in such a tidy condition. “Museum” is literally a one small room with a little train in it, we didn’t want to come in as there were too many people already there. Our 2 years old son enjoyed the experience.

Great fun and not that expensive £3 adults £2 kids, easy to find, free parking (if space) the people seem happy to be here, had a laugh with the old fella who Stubbs the tickets.

Very quaint little railway going round the lake.
Tickets are cheap and trains run every 15/20 minutes. Good scenery and little museum to look at before/afterwards.

Amazing miniature railway for all ages. £3 for adults and £2 for children. Diesel trains on weekdays and steam train at weekends. Even though we were all "adults" everyone enjoyed the 10 minute ride around the lake.

A nice outing but doesn’t take more than an hour or two. The little train is sweet and it’s a pleasant 5 minute ride around the lake. There’s a nice playground for young children. If you want to go crabbing be aware that it is not safe with small children. There is quite a drop and no barrier between you and the water. Also, we took our normal kid’s fishing nets which were no use at all because of the drop to the water. Buy the special ones that they sell. A nice place to spend an hour or so but wouldn’t return.

A great little attraction for young children. My girls (9 and 7) loved the 10min journey round the lake on the train and I’d definitely recommend for those with any children aged 2-11. There was a mix of open and closed carriages all very clean and well maintained. The staff are all lovely and cheerful. There is a small train museum in the station. A lovely half-day out. No pre-booking needed. They accept cash and card.
