It was such a memorable experience to try surfing for the first time with Toro at Blue Surf Adventure!
It was so much fun and me and my friends managed to stand on the board from the first lesson!
Very good safety talk before you even get into the water, Toro will make sure you are safe and know everything starting with the basic rules of water before hand!
If you ever want to try to surf in Santa Teresa go to Toro straight away 😊

Toro and Blue Surf Adventures are awesome. I highly recommend them for surfing lessons. I did a few private sessions with Toro and learned more in those few sessions than I have in the last 2 years of occasional surfing. He is a really great teacher, provides great feedback and makes surfing really fun. We worked on my techniques and he provided tools for me to take with me as I continue surfing. He also talked a lot about water and surfing safety, which I appreciated. Blue Surf Adventures has great vibes and Toro has a great outlook on life- Pura vida, get outside and have fun.

I visited Santa Teresa in 2021 to learn to surf and came back in 2022 to surf again because I had such a great time learning to surf with Toro. He is the most knowledgeable and motivating teacher and helped me progress my skills to feel much more confident surfing on my own. I highly recommend if you are looking for a surfing instructor in Santa Teresa for any level of surfer!

My husband and I came to Santa Teresa with our two daughters and their boyfriends (mid 20's in age). Several in our group had never surfed before and several had varying degrees of experience. We took a lesson ever day of our trip with Toro which I would highly recommend to build your skill and confidence! Toro was fantastic with both groups dividing us up by experience and challenging each group at the appropriate level. All of us where able to catch waves, even me, which far exceeded my expectation for myself. Toro gives excellent instruction, is very motivational, pushes you just the right amount and makes the whole experience an absolute blast! I highly recommend Toro as an instructor and we will all be back for sure!!!!!

What a nice family experience with my wife and kids we had today. Learning to surf is realy fun especially with Toro our surf instructor.

If you're looking for a top notch surf lesson, look no further than Blue Surf Adventures! I booked two private lessons and by the second day was catching almost every wave on my own! I've taken a few lessons in the past but Toro's personal technique and guidance was the best I've experienced. Not only do you learn the mechanics of surfing but also the everything else that goes in to surfing: wave patterns, tides, safety, etc. Would highly recommended!

Great lesson. My wife and I took a private lesson with Toro and he was brilliant. It was my first time and he was patient and enthusiastic throughout the entire lesson. My wife has surfed a number of times and said Toro was the best instructor she'd had as well. Would highly recommend it.

Toro was a fantastic instructor, with both a depth of knowledge that he readily communicated, as well as the practical skill and intuition to make sure we were always safe and having fun out in the surf.
We were both brand new to surfing and quickly booked 2 additional lessons with Toro to make the most of our time in Costa Rica. We felt confident renting boards by ourselves after our second lesson!

Regarding payment. There will always be sales tax on the lesson and in Costa Rica that is 13%. If you pay cash, you will still have to pay that tax, however there will not be any service fees for use of credit card.

I had the best stay at Blue Surf- beautiful location by the beach and nice bungalows. Huge shout out to Lale and Maykol at reception- they were so lovely to chat with and extremely helpful with recommendations, setting up COVID test travel requirements, etc. Last but not least, thank you to Toro- he was an amazing instructor and his passion for surfing is contagious. Lessons with him made my trip!! I had never surfed before and he made the experience safe, fun, and meditative- it was truly the experience of a lifetime, and I am so grateful. I was so sad to leave, but can’t wait to return and surf again.
