Kalithea bay dive
Well organized dives with instructors who know the dive site. 45 mins from harbor. 2 dives around 50 mins each with 35 minutes break between.

What a day! Beautiful and Fun!
We went snorkling, but on the road there they convinced us to go scuba diving! They were right! You will Not regret it!
The staff is Very professional and great with people! Even our 11 year old lady was able to dive! Thry Never left her side!

Diving for the first time

First time ever, jihuu! 🥳
Good and clear instructions. They made me relax outside the sea and as well in the sea (i was a bit of nerveous at first heh). Thank you for the amazing experience and making me feel safe plus holding my hand underwater at first (i needed it😂)!
This was the best first time diving ever, thank you! 🫶

Left with mixed feelings: positive about diving, not sure about waterhoppers despite the excellent team
There are bits of this that are 5 ⭐️. Let’s start there: scuba diving was a great experience. The whole thing was well explained, and the team were friendly, helpful and informative. We had a good day.

Only three stars though for some significant issues and here’s the long story.

We had initially booked the snorkelling. This cost €60 and when we were boarded we were asked ‘why only snorkelling, you can do that anywhere?’ That’s a good point, so why advertise a snorkelling trip?
We then paid the extra €15 each to dive, an extra €60 in total. Meaning we had now paid €300.

This was then followed by opportunities to further upgrade our trip but at this point, for a family of four, we’d already paid €300 for a 20 minute dive (including time to get used to the equipment) and snorkelling (which we could do anywhere in Greece).

Good job we did the diving though, as we’d be giving 1 star if we’d only done snorkelling.

We were then offered pictures of our trip. But for another €20. If a photographer had been involved, then sure. But these pictures were to be a transfer from a €100 (ish) Go Pro taken by the person who was guiding us around.

People did pay for all kinds of extras and at the end of the day, we were left waiting for those who had paid for the extras. We got back at 3pm but it wasn’t 6 hours of activity.

Despite having a good day we left feeling like the pricing was intended to draw us in and the make even more money from us once on the boat. We get it’s a business but transparency is always appreciated.

€20 for photographs taken by the person who was guiding us under water - which cost nothing in terms of manpower and is negligible in terms of equipment - left us frustrated. It’s also not very good business sense as we now can’t show others our experience, meaning they are missing out on lots of free advertising.

The kiosk was nothing special - so if you do go (especially if you are doing one or two things) take lunch so you can pass the time with a picnic.

I’d like around before doing it with waterhoppers again despite having a good day and the quality of the team.

PS Based on other negative comments, I’d expect a strong rebuttal to follow 😏

Thank you for your review. Good and bad it is always helpful to get feedback on our guests' experience. I am very happy to hear that your enjoyed your day with us and your first experience under the water. I am also very happy to hear that our team received top marks from you. We are very proud of our team and the effort they put in to ensure that our guests have a great day. Your issue is with the cost of the trip and feeling pushed towards the optional extras. Many of our guests do not realise that it is possible to scuba dive without any previous experience and without being super fit. This is why we always let our snorkelling guests know it is possible to dive. I do not know why you complain about this as it is a choice and you did choose to change to diving and had a great time as a result. I do not think that it is reasonable for you to comment on our snorkelling programme as you did not participate. How can you complain about a programme you did not do? For the cost of the excursion. Scuba diving is not a cheap sport but we believe that this excursion is good value for money. You have a boat trip, the use of scuba equipment and the service of a highly trained and experienced crew. We believe in giving our guests options to do as much or as little as they wish. Guests can make one dive and if they love it have to choice to make a second dive, have photos or even complete a PADI certification course. None of these options are expensive on an individual basis and we know from experience that guests prefer to make the choice whether or not to participate. The excursion is advertised as a 6/7 hour trip, including 50 minute boat trip each way. The dive is advertised as 20 minutes. Guests who wish to make just 1 dive are free to borrow mask and snorkel or relax on the boat. The kiosk on the boat offers sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Of course guests are welcome to take their own lunch if they want something more. It is clear from your initial comments that your family enjoyed their day and their first dive. It is a shame that you seem to be overlooking that experience.

Belle expérience et équipe au top
Baptême de plongée pour moi et mon compagnon. Vraiment une excellente expérience !

La communication avec l'équipe avant l'excursion était au top. Notre chauffeuse était vraiment sympathique et adorable.

Sur le bateau, nous avons eu les explications de la journée par une demoiselle française très gentille.

Nous avons pu papoter et profiter de ses conseils ainsi que d'une autre jeune fille s'exprimant en français. Un vrai bonheur et une vraie facilité !!

Le seul "bémol", si vous ne faites que la première plongée, bien que vous avez la possibilité de nager librement en gardant la combinaison, ca peut sembler un peu long. Prévoir de quoi vous occuper ou bronzer (nous sommes rentrés au port vers 15h).

Bref, une journée extraordinaire 😊

My son and I want wanted to try out a subs dive, so we did.. we liked it so much we decided to go whole hog and do tye PADI scuba course… big shout out to the team of Ryan, Alfie (newbie) and of course teh colourful Cris for making it an awesome experience.

If you want to learn how to dive this is a perfect place in the area as the bay is cool with many friendly fishes of all shapes and sizes - Cris is a very cool dude explaining to duffers like me how to clear a mask and other ridiculous stuff which pushes you out of your comfort levels to ensure you know how to be safe and breathe 🧘

Overall a bloomin awesome thing to do as now my son and I can dive to 12m all thanks to the tuition of Cris and are PADI qualified. Whoop whoop

I cant recommend the Team at Waterhoppers enough! They are sooo patient and professional and Sharon is the Diving Mammy you never you u needed! I was worse than a newbie as Id had a scare before and I had my own safety diver provided to me. Every diver was absokutely fantastic and you feel safe. Even if you only snorkel with this team you are very lucky as they are so expert. Shout out to Michael too for his fab intro to this special underwater world. We will be back for sure!!

Fantastic Wreck dive at Plimiri
Did a great wreck dive at Plimiri with my son. The team was really taking good care of us from the beginning to the end.
It is an amazing spot, the wreck is huge, and visibility was fantastic.
Thanks again Waterhoppers. We loved it.
