Attended this historical mosque for Friday prayers. Great peaceful place next to the hussle and bussle of the town.
Only active mosque in the area, and opens for Friday prayers only these days.
It’s kept very clean and very pleasant inside and out.
Visitors are also allowed entrance during opening times.
Recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Un lieu chargé d’histoire, la mosquée est ouverte à la visite pour tous au alentour de 13h00. La seul mosquée en activité sur l’île de Rhodes. Possibilité d’y effectuer la prière du vendredi pour les musulmans.
Elle est situe à moins de 5 min à pieds de la place hypocrate.

Every day we would pass by The Ibrahim Pasha Mosque and the octagonal fountain facing it in Platonos Square on our way to explore the Medieval old town of Rhodes. It is claimed to be the oldest out of the seven mosques inside the medieval walled city of Rhodes, and the only one used for worship today, serving the Turkish-Muslim community of Rhodes. Built in 1530 by Pargalı Makbul İbrahim Pasha who was the grand vizier of the time, to celebrate the conquest of Rhodes by Islamic forces in 1522. The mosque has touches of classical Turkish architecture, with a large square space, roofed with an 11:50 m dome and two consecutive porches along the northern side. On a polygonal base rises the minaret but due to centuries of neglect it had to be rebuilt by the occupying Italian forces with reinforced concrete in 1928. Today it is a landmark that can be seen from anywhere in the Medieval old town.
Upon visiting the mosque the entrance was nicely decorated with racks for shoes on either side, the interior seemed to be well-maintained and very clean, the floor was covered by lovely carpets, and the prayer times are updated on an electronic panel. The minbar where the imam (leader of prayers) stands to deliver sermons, was made of marble, and there was a newly constructed women's praying area upstairs.
TIP: People wanting to visit the mosque, should know that it's only open for Friday prayers around noon for several hours. Please tick the box below if you found this review helpful.

Any time I ever passed the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque it’s been closed. However, that doesn’t detract from the overall ambience of the place. The mosque’s red-tiled-top shadirvan and the overhanging bushy green trees simply accentuate the stunning white minaret that pierces the sky. It’s a very pretty area in the Old Town.

Visited the old town to look at its history.
Found this lovely mosque, still in its original state, after finding the sultan Sulaiman mosque has been closed for a long time.
We were let in to look around. Worth a visit if it’s of interest.

En flânant dans le quartier, jolie découverte. Deux jeunes gens sortent du lieu de culte et nous proposent de visiter, quelques mots en français et nous voici entrés. Joli lieu de culte, ancien, charmant dans sa modestie, bien entretenu, accueillant.
