My wife and I visited this museum in Broadstairs. The guide who showed us around a few of the rooms seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Dickens and his world. Interesting artifacts to see and well worth spending a little time here.

We enjoyed our time at the museum. Lots of interesting facts provided by a knowledgable guide. Definitely worht a visit.

Not as interesting as his home in Clerkenwell, the connection here feels more spurious but for a few £ it’s another insight into the great writer

So very worth a visit. Its inexpensive and a treat to see so much history on display. The chap who told us the history we could have listened to for hours. what an amazing man and so kind.

My adult family, their partners, my wife and I visited this charmingly local museum to an international figure. Don't expect whizzy interactive artifacts and learning opportunities, this is a collection of things donated to well-meaning enthusiasts - most have something to do with Dickens, but there are also Quite Interesting artefacts about Broadstairs and the period. It also houses an expansive collection of cartoons of characters from Dickens' books and serials.

Sadly, the Dickens house Museum has closed its doors for this year, much to our frustration. It was to be a highlight our our trip to Broadstairs, be not to be, this year.

Very welcoming little museum, in pretty house near seafront. Provides interesting information about Dickens and his connection with Broadstairs, including how local buildings were used in different novels. The museum building was itself a model for a cottage in David Copperfield. Exhibits were well laid out and the staff were friendly. Definitely recommend a visit to Broadstairs - a lovely little clifftop Kentish Town - and to this charming and well run little museum.

Although Dickens never lived here, he was a regular visitor to the owner, on whom he modelled Betsy Trotwood. What makes this a fascinating visit is the curator. When he gives a tour, his knowledge of Dickens is so deep, that it seems personal, as if Charles was a personal friend who shared his life & loves with him. Just wonderful.

There are other such collections in Britain dedicated to the life and work of famous authors but here, as soon as the door closes, you are welcomed like a long lost friend and drawn very quickly into the life and work of Charles Dickens.
This compact museum in Broadstairs, in a cosy Victorian house, displays Victoriana and letters which give you a flavour of Dickens himself and how life was lived.
Enjoy the fashions or card collection or simply stand still and absorb. The staff are thorough in their knowledge and could not be more helpful
Only beware: Tiny Tim was given no consideration when the stairs were built but they’re worth the climb.
Don’t expect a theme park; it’s perfect as it is.
