Contacted in February to book sky to fjords, told it was able to book by end of March but a spot would be reserved, No response to multiple emails or calls, have had to book another activity elsewhere. Very disappointed

Amazing experience!
We rent a tandem for a kayak tour, Tommaso and the whole staff have been very kind and detailed in providing info regarding Geiranger.
It has been very easy to book the tour and they have been very attentive with us from the beginning until the end of the excursion.
This was the third time we came in Geiranger and they are definitely the best option for an excursion in there.

We came all the way from Spain to this incredible place. We rented a tandem to discover the fjord and its waterfalls. The guide was very friendly and helpful, thanks so much to Geiranger Adventure for this wonderful experience. See you soon!

We took this SkyToFjord bike trip as an excursion from the trip. The ride down from the glacier-fed-lake has spectacular scenic views. This bike ride deserves 5 stars except for the two big cons listed below. If you bring warm clothing including hat and gloves, and don't mind being separated from other riders, then this is an excellent event.
Pros:
1. Spectacular scenic views.
Cons:
1. Trip leader rode too fast, so the various capabilities spread out the group over a large distance.
2. The trip leader didn't offer gloves for warmth of hands at the top of the mountain. Gloves were in a container at the bottom but weren't offered to participants.

Hired an ebike for 3 hours and it was an incredible experience. I am a cyclist but found the assisted power important for making it up the 6 km climb for spectacular views, Truly amazing experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a few problems hiring online ahead of time but there were plenty of bikes available if your unable to preorder

We were lucky the day we arrived. The weather was perfect and there were no mist/fog. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. We had about four stops along the way to the top. Lots of places to take photos. Definitely recommend for singles, couples or families.

I saw this 'excursion' listed on the website of the cruise company that we used for our cruise of Norway (Royal Caribbean) however I didn't book it we weren't sure what our plans would be for the day. In walking past the shop in Geiranger I saw that the actual cost advertised was much less than that advertised by the Cruise line, presumably because they add on a premium. I decided to take a chance and went for the afternoon session, which was just myself and one other person.
The staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful and impressively multilingual. The experience was well organised and the bike appeared well maintained and up to the job.
The ride itself was AMAZING - down hill on smooth main roads that twisted and turned down steep slopes from over 1000m to the Fjord shoreline. The blue glacier was worth seeing on its own and I was blown away with the views from the various stops along the way that the van driver who took us up the climb pointed out.
I'd highly recommend this experience - very good value for money and breath taking views of beautiful countryside.
The effort needed for this experience is not particularly demanding however the speed you can get up to on the longer steeper sections is quite high so I'd recommend brushing up on your bike riding or handling beforehand if you need to. I hit 42mph at one point (according to the Strava app on my phone).
Top tips - half way down you can stop and take a short walk to a waterfall. Also don't miss the opportunity to take sip of the glacial water from any of the many streams along the roadside. About three quarters of the way down there is a section of the old horse and carriage road that winds under itself like a spiral - it was fun to take a slight detour to go around and under the bridge!
Do not forget to take your camera or you will regret it!

We were taken 11 miles up to ride bikes down. We booked our tour through princess cruise lines. Someone in our group fell at the beginning and so we all had to wait for medical care (she was ok) but it added approx. an extra 1:40 minutes to our excursion, meaning when we finally got back into town we had no time left to explore this beautiful city or walk up the river pathways. We had to wait because the adventure co. only had two guides on with us (a guide in the front on a bike and a van following us from the back) During our trip down we stopped multiple times at one stop our two guides got water out of the van for themselves and sat down and ate their lunch. HAHAHA, are you kidding me??? It was a hot, sunny, eleven mile tour with an added extra 1:40 and they didn’t offer us any water (there was no place to buy water on the way down and if there was they didn’t stop there or tell us). By the time our group of 11 got to the bottom everyone was mad, hot, and tired. Bad P.R.

Dear Kris C, Thank you for your review.
The unfortunate accident during the tour delayed our excursion of about 25 minutes. Our bike tour usually lasts approximately 3 hours, in that case from 2 pm until 5 pm. At 4:50 we were back in town, so in time.
For this bike tour we have always 2 guides for up to 35 passengers, if the group is bigger we have 3 guides. For a group of 13, as it was on that day, we used 2 guides.
Our tour is in the mountains where you unfortunately don't have any shops or places to buy water, that's why in our tour description we advise passengers to bring water and warm clothes. It surprised us to get your review as during and after the trip we received positive feedback and compliments.
We accept and try to make the best of every critique we receive, always trying to improve our service. If there are any needs during the tour it is helpful to be informed right away in order to solve the issue and give you the best experience possible.
Yes the guides shared a small snack during the stop at the viewpoint while the passengers where enjoying the view, we are sorry if that offended someone.
We are sorry that you couldn't enjoy the tour for that inconvenience and we will try to use your advise to improve our services.

Visited on a cruise excursion as wanted to have a challenge rather than a sedate scenic bus or boat ride as was not disappointed
You get kitted out in a little wooden shed at the edge of the port area (helmet, gloves and Hi Vis tabard) you are then taken by bus to the top of the hill/mountain where you select your bike (they have them set out in rows by size) you then have time to select your bike and test it out, there is also a little restaurant with toilets
The whole outfit was very well run, the Italian guides were very helpful and one rode at the front of the group whilst another rode at the back plus one drove a support car at the back, the whole trip is approx. 13 miles with only a very small proportion uphill (mainly at the start to set off) they tell you at the start that you will stop 3 or 4 times at designated spots for photos/rest etc
We set off in a large spread out group of 30+ riders with varying experience, you were told you could take your time and they would just go at your pace and this is what seemed to happen with some fast riders off at the front and then everyone meeting up at the designated spots
The reason I say do this is if you dare is because the ride terrified me because the road is busy (this was mid June) so lots of tourist buses and motorhomes and the heights are spectacular so due to my fear of heights this was really not for me but I have rated highly because my husband thoroughly enjoyed and even though I was frightened I was able to opt out of the ride and be taken in the support car with the generous option of riding again if I changed my mind (I did not)
Be aware that even though this is summer they had snowfall at the top, the previous days riders had to cycle the whole way in snow 1 hour +, we had a small amount of snow at the very top followed by driving rain and later sunshine so the full range of Norwegian summer :)
You do get the opportunity to get some spectacular photos on the way down and it would have been nice to explore some more of the area more if we had not been on a cruise ship

We are very interested in the bike tour but fear with it being late in the year the weather and road conditions will be unfavorable. We know to dress warmly etc. We are are going to be there October 1! Beth
Hi Beth,
Unfortunately, the tour is not operating after September 15 as the weather conditions too often are not suitable.
Thank you for showing interest in our Sky to Fjord Downhill Bike tour and have a wonderful vacation.
