We had a fabulous day. Canoe the Wye staff were very professional but friendly. They manage to allow clients to feel they are canoeing independently but are available if needed.
The canoe trip was peaceful with beautiful views and wildlife to be seen. Would recommend this trip.

Everything well organised and went like clockwork. Good safety brief and sound equipment. Will certainly return. Be sure to take coins for the parking meter.

It was absolutely brilliant! Very peaceful, not too strenuous, gorgeous views. As novices we were anxious about whether it would be difficult, but everything was explained really clearly and we had no issues at all. We will be back to have another go and maybe try a longer trip! It was the perfect choice for our silver wedding anniversary.

Professional friendly outfit. We felt well looked after. The river was stunning, despite being quite shallow due to lack of rain.
The company highlighted and explianed how to navigate the exiting "rapid" moments which added to the enjoyment. Most of it was cruising downstream on a beautiful river with a lovely stop over in Ross.

We booked the two day trip from Hoarwithy to Symonds Yat, and CTW were brilliant. All the gear was provided, we were given maps and instructions, the team were very helpful, and everything went to plan. We were fifteen minutes late in arriving and while some companies might have used this against us, CTW made sure that we didn’t miss any briefings or information. Entirely our fault for being late.
As for the trip itself, you have to do it. The Wye Valley really is a gorgeous stretch, and there’s no better therapy than being on the river and surrounded by nature.

My husband and I tried canoeing for the first time, and we had such a wonderful afternoon! The booking online was really easy, and felt the value for money was really good. When we arrived, the team were helpful and approachable. Russell was excellent in explaining everything and was really friendly and made us feel as ease. We had such a great time that we then brought our whole family the following week! We hired 2 3 person canoes and had another lovely time! The level of service and professionalism, as well as humour and fun delivered by the team made everyone feel really comfortable having never tried canoeing!
We've recommended the company and experience to our friends, and we'll definitely be back.

Do you provide flotation aids for dogs, and is there any additional charge? Couldn’t see anything on website when trying to book.. thanks.

CAN I BRING A DOG?
Some dogs - but no more than two in a canoe (Total number of dogs and people is 4). That is to say they must be well behaved and kept under proper control at all times. You also need to consider how a dog may affect the stability of the canoe. Remember that dogs with long coats are a lot heavier when wet - something to think about if you have to lift it out of water. Therefore only dogs weighing less than 20kgs are allowed (If you have two dogs they must not weigh more than 20kgs in total.). Every dog should have a lead (but not attached while in the boat). At no time should a dog be tied to a canoe that is either in or out of the water. Dogs should be kept away from birds on the river and should not be allowed to splash around in shallow areas where young fish are growing. In all cases you are reminded to ensure that dogs do not cause a nuisance to any farm animal, wildlife or birds. Remember that a farmer has the right to shoot a dog in some circumstances. Irrespective of what we say you are responsible for ensuring that your dog is accepted at any accommodation, camp site, pub or any other location.
Whilst you are canoeing we recommend that you remove the collar and lead, so if the dog does go into the river it cannot get hooked up on a tree branch and not be able to free itself. Our advice regarding dog buoyancy aids is that it is a managed risk, we do not supply them and actually they are not ideal for river use as the design often has large loops on the back which can easily cause entrapment. Dog buoyancy aids are really designed for lakes and the sea, where there is a long distance to land and in non moving environments. We give you this advice as dog owners and lovers ourselves, keen to ensure that you have an enjoyable time on the river without it being marred by unforeseen incident.

Hi there, we do indeed allow dogs in our canoes as long as there is less than 20kg of canine weight in the boat!

Hi there, anyone under the age of 17 must be supervised and accompanied in the canoe with an adult of 18 or over.
Between the ages of 4 and 13 this supervision ratio of adult to child must be 1:1, between the ages of 14 to 17, the ratio can be 2:1.
For example, an adult with a 6 year-old and a 16 year-old could go in one canoe, whilst an adult with a 6-year old and a 13 year-old could not!
