I was waiting to meet my friend so wandered down to river where I came across the stand for the river cruises. It was quite early in the morning, but when I rang up on spec to see if we could book a trip the phone was answered straightaway and at 12.30 we were off on a very pleasant river cruise.
The weather was beautiful as was the scenery - we saw the heron and the nesting swan along the way. It was so relaxing and hearing the birds and the water lapping around the boat was the icing on the cake. We were given lots of really interesting information along the way and seeing the historic chantry bridge from the river perspective was a real treat.
We can thoroughly recommend this trip as a way to while away a pleasant hour (I believe other trips are available, including a bird-watching one which I bet is fantastic!).

Saw the previous good reviews on TripAdvisor so decided to do this whilst visiting the lovely St Ives. Weather wasn’t brilliant but it really didn’t detract from such a peaceful way of cruising up the Ouse. Lots of wild fowl. Saw a kingfisher, herons and lots of ducks, moorhens, coots with their young. The electric boat makes for such a peaceful ride. Francis (our skipper) was lovely and very informative on the history of the area as well as the wildlife. We were a group of 4 adults (the eldest in her eighties) and we all enjoyed it equally. Cannot think of any negatives, even with the rain. A must do in St Ives.

This is a lovely way to enjoy the natural beauty of St Ives! Francis, our Skipper, got the perfect balance of letting us relax and take in the idyllic views, alongside imparting his knowledge on local history and current day happenings. We took a passenger trip for an hour as a couple and made up a small group of 9. A family run business with attention to comfort and friendliness. Suitable for couples, families and small groups alike. I highly recommend enjoying a leisurely boat trip with these guys, it’s fantastic!

Brilliant cruise down the Ouse!! We will be returning for another trip this season. Lived in St.Ives all our lives and was great to see it river side. Our children 6 & 7 years loved it “Best day ever” was their quote! Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were visiting St Ives for a few hours recently. Not too much going on and Google suggested visiting a bridge. I didn’t even find the boat trip ahead of visiting.
Noticed the signs for the boat trip so decided to give it a go.
What an absolute delight it was!
Almost an hour silently cruising gently along the river. Our “captain” ( the owner) was so engaging. Telling tales of history and personal experiences, the odd joke and even a song!
He was especially good with the youngsters on board, who all had a go at steering the boat. The scenery is serene and the various sights were commented on.
I can honestly say this was more enjoyable at £20 for two than our punt ride in Cambridge the evening before at eight times the price.
Well done to the couple who run this!

A very relaxing and interesting boat trip. Lots of local history and other useful titbits. Great value for money, too. Three generations of our family all annoyed it enormously.

We’ve lived in the town for decades and never been on the river. As the weather was glorious we decided it was time to give the trip a go. Interesting info, lots of wildlife including a kingfisher! Definitely go again.

We booked a 1 hour self drive trip and it was great fun! Booking over email was easy. On the day we paid by card, got a 5 minute intro to the controls and the rules of the river, and off we went. It was a bit drizzly but that didn’t detract from the experience since the boat had cover. The boat was easy to control and we could focus on dodging ducks and fishing lines and enjoying the ride. The kids even had a go! Thank you to everyone at the electric river boat company. We’d love to come back again one day!
