Love this place, food is fab especially the Cobbler! The owners and staff are all super friendly! Would highly recommend a visit!

Fantastic family meal on what was our last night in this Cornish Gem. Lovely fresh crab and prawn salad, delicious lightly battered white bait and brilliant fish and chips were enjoyed by all of us. Recommended. The land lord is a character to mind! :)

Booked in for the footie semi final unsure about our choice as the pub doesn't look much from the outside compared to its much fancier neighbour, The Halfway House. Just shows how deceptive looks can be. A huge contrast with the poor food and unwelcoming staff of the posher venue. Here, the staff were friendly, efficient and very slick, quick to deal very well with a disappointed customer who had been booked on the wrong table (their issue solved). Food surpassed our expectations, perfectly cooked whitebait, a lovely crab salad and delicious Berry cobbler. Hubby said the ale was excellent. Very reasonable bill for what we had. A great evening, highly recommend. Book ahead as indoor space limited. There are also some tables outside that catch the evening sun. Perfect.

Unable to get a table for dinner we were lucky enough to happen upon the rising sun. They were full but kindly fitted us in with our 2 dogs. We both had fish which was fresh & delicious, the owner & staff were very welcoming & friendly. Can recommend for a pleasant informal evening.

Lovely cosy pub in the gorgeous village of Kingsand. Excellent food and great beer!! A must visit while you are there.

Love this little gem. Beers and ciders are all good. Food is superb. Staff are lovely too. Nice to walk the minadu path literally next door!

Had an evening meal here, great place good bar staff and waiters, they all made us feel welcome.
Food however was not so good, a little average seen as the chef was bragging about her talents on our visit to the toilets.
Passing the kitchen the chef was very vocal about the owners being unpopular with the locals and was very rude about her Employer.
Disgusting attitude and behaviour from any employee, she clearly needs to take a look at the front of house staff. Well done to them.

We have visited Kingsand many times over the years and the Rising Sun has always been our favourite pub. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and locals, and great food. However, this last visit we are a bit disappointed. The food is still great, the atmosphere and locals still friendly, but the staff were more interested in their phones than clearing tables of glasses. Guests were leaving and no attempt was made to thank them for their custom.
I am hoping it's a blip but I am guessing new management is in place now. If that is the case, then some serious training needs to be done in service skills. A real shame but can be easily remedied.

We eat here fairly regularly......but today had a particularly excellent meal. Just wanted to review the Moroccan Lamb...thought I would try something different. It was delicious. Its one of the nicest pubs in the area...we are spoilt for choice over here. !
