If you have been to one fairy trail you have been to them all was my view before our visit but the amount of thought that went into this places it above any other trails I have been to. When we arrived there was nobody to be seen. We tried the entrance shed-no answer, we tried the hostel-no answer, we tried the bar area-no answer & should have poured myself a pint. Maybe they were away with the faries? Eventually a female staff member appeared but she was going home. Anyway she advised just to go in, so we did. Once inside, each section of the trail has a brief history of what type of fairy lived there, some even have some medieval games to play. All the houses are 3D and the real thing not just plaques on trees. They are also individual and hand made. The trail is short and it wont take long so I would suggest its done along with a restaurant booking.

Visited today and had such a fun time, the trail is simple but wonderful with games, information about faerie mythology and cute fairy houses. Would definitely visit again!

V charming house, beautiful wooded walk with a few fairy doors & games along the way. But €12 for a walk is too expensive. €2 each is more than enough. Lady selling tickets friendly. Asked about drinks in the courtyard area & they said they couldn’t sell drinks without food & not opening until 5pm. We were not looking for alcoholic drinks as were driving with young kids: only wanted a coffee. Cute place but not worth the money.

Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the faerie trail and the woods. I would like to clarify that the Faerie Trail costs €3 per person, not €12, which I presume was the total you paid for your group. There is a cost to setting up, staffing and insuring the trail and the shop and we believe the price of €3 is a fair reflection of that. Regarding serving drinks during the day, The Valley House is a Public House with a 7-day license, rather than a coffee shop. According to the government guidelines during this pandemic, we are not allowed to open for drinks, including coffees, without a substantial meal being served (of at least €9 in value) alongside the drinks/coffees. For that reason (for the moment) it is only possible for us to open the Bar from 5pm-10pm.

It was raining all day so we decided to try this. Since it's in the woods, it's covered and somewhat protected by the rain. The entry fee is now 3 euros. My son is into fairy and fantasy stuff and he really enjoyed it. So much that we went through it again for a second time.
The pot of gold is fixed, and I didn't see the problems mentioned in some other reviews. Overall this is good for young kids (my son is 6) especially when raining.

Even without the cutesy fairy doors and homes, this was the kind of walk you would expect to find real fairies on. The wooded trail was perfect. There are also some games set up along the way for kids, but we were just two adults who enjoyed this very much. Worth the drive to find this because the sights along the way were grand.

Walking through the lovely woodland it is easy to see how children might be enthralled with anticipation of meeting woodland faries around every corner and even sneaking up on the woodland wildlife. Well worth a visit!

We went as saw it advertised and paid upfront, really disappointed my 2 Yr old was asking where all the faeries were. There was a lot of broken glass on the trail my 1 yo picked some of it up, not really good enough.

I so looked forward to seeing this and I'm not a child! But I was sorely disappointed.. the faerie trail has not been well maintained at all. There is evidence that it started well, it's very well laid out with game stops and opportunity for play. We visited in the rain but I feel that even in wet weather, this could be a very enjoyable experience if well kept. There are no sign of faerie folk in sculpted form or any animal life even as statues or artistic creations.. I think this would have really enhanced the trail. Sadly, the whole pot of gold display had been destroyed and not repaired.. just such a sad pity. Such a fabulous little woodland and very under-utilised. Also, as an aside.. clearly some sewage work has been or is being done on site and the whole last section reeked, as well as having destroyed the whole end of the trail. We felt cheated.. not just of the coin paid for the experience, but of the sheer joy such a place could give! Come on guys.. fix this!

As I walked into this 'Faerie Trail' I wasn't expecting it to be half as amazing as it was! For only €2 per person it was a wonderful experience. Well worth visiting. A lot of creative effort was put into this woodland treat. It is also way longer and more enjoyable than i expected. Amazing 10/10 !!
