Love this beach. It’s huge and beautiful. Very nice to just relax without being crowded by loads of people. I’d definitely recommend it

We have been travelling for years and never seen a beach or scenery as good as this the beach is lovely clean sand
And the rock formations are fantastic
Well worth a visit plenty of places too eat a lot of places are cash only

We stayed in Jardim do Vau apartment hotel, where I have stayed starting in 1999, and it is still the same, friendly place, helpful staff, most of whom I have known for almost twenty years, very few changes which has to mean good supervision and working atmosphere. This year, 2023 the waether was unusually cool and was just starting to warm up when we had to leave! A great place, on the beach, good restaurants around, Lino's, Casa da Rocha - excellent, Barao's, Buganvilla and many more.

Be warned, you will need to bring cash. Most places don't accept cards due to the high fees that card companies charge the businesses. One bar even has a sign saying €5 will be added to your bill if paid by card. The good news is that there are plenty of ATMs.

Great beach, large and protected the rocks are beautiful and it has a few easy access options, didn't give the 5th star because no vegan food options around

Nos queremos alojar en hotel Avenida Praia, en la avenida Av. Tomas Cabreira, Praia da Rocha, Portimão a mediados de agosto. No veo claro el aparcamiento. Me podríais ayudar ? Gracias

Yes you can. There is the main beach as well as lots of little cove style beaches and they each have a cabin style bar that sells snacks as well as drinks. I spent a lot of time on these small beaches and had beer every time. Hope this helps. X

I think the summer months will be fine to swim in the sea we were there in November and there were quite a few people swimming there . It is a beautiful beach enjoy !!

Hi we were there in November and had lovely weather through the day but it was chilly at night. Quite a few restaurants were closed day and night and it was very quiet in the town but I imagine the main holiday season there finished at the end of October so you should be ok.

near the beach are quite a lot paid parking spaces. On the road to the beach from Portimao city you can also find free parking spaces with a 5 to 10 minutes walk.
