Won't be coming back due to the hate for bikers that seems to be building there at an alarming rate.

I have been coming to Port Stanley all my life. As a young boy I cherish the memories of the beach, the bridge, the orange drink, and the wonderful people who went there too. These days I take my girlfriend there for to dine and to relax Unfortunately the last time I went there (last year) I was unfairly targeted and ticketed by a police officer for my Harley. My harley isn't any louder than most other bikes, but because it's a Harley the constable gave me a ticket. He said he had had a lot of complaints about loud motorcycles and that's why he was giving me a ticket, to show the locals that he was doing something. I understand people not liking loud motorcycles and for that reason I do not rev or chirp my pipes in quiet areas in respect for others trying to enjoy their day. I will probably not be returning to Port Stanley as the whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will turn left at the lights from now on and spend my hard earned money at the "Burrwell" or the "Bruce" because they seem less hostile there, more biker friendly.
My question is...Is it the locals or the police that are hating on motorcycles in Port Stanley?
To close I recommend not taking your motorcycle, especially not your Harley, to Port Stanley as someone there is out to get us...out!

Lots of beach with plenty of space. Easy access. More parking is needed. Access to restaurants right off the beach.

Never been to Port Stanley before so glad we visited. We saw Lake Erie when it was “wild” and the next day “calm” which was awesome. Walking along this beach was very enjoyable - the beach is big. In addition we were treated with a magnificent sunset!

Took a drive to this area to look at a property, decided to drive around town, a very nice beach town, neat, and lots of shops, nice looking beach, place looks like a nice fun touristy spot, check it out if ever out near it, lots of apple farms nearby, cheers

We went to the beach 2 days in a row. The first day was good but the 2nd day it was dirty, not cleaned and there were flies EVERYWHERE, probably from it raining. Also, a lot of seagulls. Beach is lifeguarded.

Great beach. Lots to do. Plenty of restaurants and stores. Check out the harbor area for a nice walk.

The beach itself is large and plenty of space. The water was cool on a 27° Sunny day and sandy. The beach sand looked freshly "raked" but it was rather cluttered with twigs, plastic and stones. Parking is paid and space is limited. Good for families but make sure to bring everything you need.

If you're looking for breakfast in Port Stanley forget it. Nothing is open until 11:00 a.m. Even the so called Breakfast Place doesn't open until 11:00 a.m. They should change their name to the Brunch Place. There people roaming around with children looking for food. It's terrible for a so-called tourist location. We with a group of 15 people in an area close to Port Stanley and we told them all to go to Port Stanley for breakfast. St. Thomas won all our business. Between the paid parking and no food Port Stanley isn't worth going to.

Place is fine. It's a beach. No room for dogs anywhere in this town though. No parks, no beaches. Dogs aren't welcome anywhere in this run of the mill town.

Awesome place. Great Airbnb's in the area. Restaurants are great. Service is the best I've experienced at a summer destination place. The people that live and work here are all so friendly and accommodating. You won't be disappointed going here for a vacation. Beautiful and quant.

Can i use a portable BBQ (gas) near the beach? Any bylaws preventing it?
Is this a ckaean swimming beach? I was reading all the reviews about seaweeds and dead insects is it true? I'm planning to.come this Saturday from Toronto hope it's worth the drive.

When I was there it was just to cold to check out the water. Our resident water dog chased a stick into the water just once and basically came back with an I’m done attitude and went straight to the car to warm up.

How do you compare this with Grand bend please? I am mainly looking for good waves ;) Could some one please throw some light on how good waves are here?

I believe that everyone has the point. There are small waves but only on days when the weather is bad like during a storm. Not the place to go for any type of boarding.

Hi Dogs are not permitted on the main beach although it is a dog friendly town for restaurants. There is a little area to the left west off the main beach where dogs were romping with each other.
It is not a designated area but if you use common sense no one will complain. There are many smaller abandoned looking beaches around and we even saw people swimming with their dogs.

Yes for washrooms and benches. No cafes per se but lots of places to purchase food and drinks and a nice restaurant/bar right on the beach. Newly wheelchair accessible beach!

No I don't think so. There's definitely a roofed eating area on the main beach, but no bbqs.

There is a main beach to the west of the river which is like many beaches kept dog free but tons of doggie areas to the north and east. Common sese works.
