Pasamos por la plaza para verla por fuera, pero encontramos la verja abierta y entramos, la plaza estaba abierta ya que ese sábado de semana había corrida de toros. Pedimos permiso para entrar y pudimos verla. La plaza es muy bonita, es la mas antigua de la provincia de Almeria construida en 1897. Es de estilo neoárabe como se puede apreciar en el arco principal de entrada y de las arcadas ciegas de la fachada. En sus bajos se sitúa el museo taurino.

This is our third trip to Vera and we always go to the bullring. I have never seen an actual bullfight, but I go for the history of the site. The ring is beautiful. As you enter ( small donation price), go to your left and down the stairs (where the snack vendors sell food and drink during the event) and you will find a small museum dedicated to the brave men who found fame or fate in the ring. I have been told I need to experience an actual bullfight, maybe one day. It's just nice to know that it's used for other things like concerts.

Heel interessant en een must-see als je in Vera bent. Hoewel we dit onderdeel van de Spaanse cultuur niet waarderen, is het wel iets wat erbij hoort. Je kunt zo naar binnen lopen en het mini-museum bekijken. Erg indrukwekkend!
Het gebouw is prachtig om te zien en goed onderhouden!

De estilo neoárabe como se observa en el arco principal y el resto de las arcadas de la fachada. La plaza más antigua de la provincia de Almería.
En los bajos está el Museo Taurino.

Alors ce n'est pas les plus belles arènes de Taureaux d'Espagne, mais on peut gratuitement y entrer et s'y balader à l'aise un peu partout. C'est l'occasion de voir ce qu'on ne voit pas ailleurs, les annexes des arènes, etc. Alors bon, c'est gratuit, donc donner quelques pièces à la gardienne lui fera plaisir !

We visited the bull ring while in the area and glad we did. We got a free tour of bull ring and were shown everything it was very interesting and we learned how important bullfighting is to the people of Spain.

La plaza es una joya de Vera y consiguientemente de Andalucia. En la estancia es obligado visitarl esa Plaza tan bonita, su antigüedad demuestra el ingenio de su arquitecto. Una joya.

What are the opening times for this museum

There doesn’t seem to be an official opening time. We read opening times but when we went there it was closed. We went into the cafe/shopping area nearby and as we were driving past it was open so we went in. Was approx 3pm so I’d plan an afternoon visit so if closed go for a coffee then head back there.

Just seen this message! My reply is as above. There may be a horse show or a bull fight but it will be widely advertised. Worth a visit even if there isn't an event during your stay. Have fun!

So far as I know the bull Ring is open to the public every day. But I do believe the bull fights are only on in September when it is Fiesta time.
If you are not visiting Vera before the end of June I will be going to Vera before then. I will be going back to the Bull Ring for another look and I can ask the question for you.

I am not into horses but my wife is and she wanted to see the show , I did go and was impressed with the way it was presented. Worth the money and the venue is perfect on a warm summer evening and we would recommend it at £ 13 it is good value.
