Nice but excessively priced, almost like a rip-off

Paying $164 for a 2-hour farm tour for 2 adults and 2 kids seemed steep.

We anticipated an unlimited tasting experience at that price point. However, only 1 piece of fruit for a person and 1 piece is not a whole fruit, no. It is a very tiny cut piece (for a pineapple, watermelon, melon, etc. 1 piece is generally 1-2cm x 0.4-1cm x 0.3-1cm). Genuinely not enough to even get the taste! This is absurd!
But you can have a whole banana later. Albeit, just an ordinary one, nothing extraordinary or rare. And they don't seem to place a limit on macadamia nuts, apart from the time (you crack the nuts – which is fun for kids).

Instead of strolling, they transported us on a tractor with a wagon with extremely uncomfortable metal seats, especially if you're tall (I'm 190cm). There wasn't enough legroom; you had to bend and sit at an angle, risking hitting sharp metal planks with your knees, and uncomfortable metal massaging your spine and/or bottom unless you had a good fat layer to protect yourself.

The boat ride was pleasant, but even that couldn't justify the steep price.
The flat peaches we bought were unripe, sour, and frankly not even of supermarket quality, let alone from a farm specialising in fruits.

In my experience, this place is excessively focused on commercialism. While my kids (5 and 9 years old) enjoyed the tour, they mentioned they'd prefer a buffet breakfast at Marriott and a visit to a water park, which would have been cheaper. Considering we travelled from the Gold Coast, it simply wasn't worth it.

P.S. They require ID in the name of the one who booked before letting for the tour (not just a formal requirement in a booking confirmation)!

Such a great experience qt the Tropical Fruit World, definitely the perfect way to spend your holiday. Huge shout out to Jimmy our guide, super helpful, knowledgeable and just overall welcoming, he made the experience that much better.

Awesome day out, the whole enjoyed their time there. Fruit tasting and tour of TFW and learning about all the vegetation was amazing, staff were also amazing. Will definitely return.

After planning our family holiday to the Gold Coast we came across Tropical Fruit World online. I’m so glad we found time to visit. The kids loved trying all the different fruit and meeting the animals. They want to come back in another season to try different fruits. Thanks again!

An interesting and diversified experience

I went on a farm tour and experienced the extent of this large fruit farm. I tasted many different fruits as I was told their names and a little about them. There are ten gardens covering fruits from many tropical countries. We stopped to feed the animals who very much looked forward to being hand fed. The river cruise was enjoyable, and we ended up in a playground for the kids, With drinks and toilet break and an exhibition of Australian fare. The tractor train driving around the site was fun.
