A huge waterfall over a sheer cliff above a tropical valley. Definitely worth a stop on the way back from Springbrook.

the hike to the bottom was closed and only the west viewing platform was open due to damage from a recent storm. It was still a nice view but not a lot else other than a five minute walk to the viewing platform.

This is a grade 3 walk (fairly hard) but worth the effort. The walk suits a fit person but can be challenging for the less fit but still manageable. Do pause and soak in the scenery and environment- don’t just walk as a physical challenge as that would be wasteful. Not much good place to dine or lunch around so prepare.

The view from the top of the falls is magical, and even more magical when you get to the bottom and experience the force and size of Purlingbrook Falls! I recommend saving 3 hours to do the hike, as there are a few lovely spots along the way to explore and play at which are all part of the fun! And the falls themselves are incredibly beautiful. It was magic! The hike wasn’t too hard, we did a lot of puffing but it was completely worth it! It was such a wonderful adventure. Definitely do the circuit!

This is a wonderful walk through subtropical rainforest with the falls a commanding centrepiece to the experience. And despite the not-insignificant descent and then ascent, if you follow the instructions and do it in a clockwise direction, it is not overly demanding. Much tougher doing it the other way and coming up those steps, I would say. We completed the walk in about 2 hours 40, but about 40 minutes of that is because we took a wrong turn and ended up at the dead-end at Warringa Pool. That was a nice walk in its own right and we were glad to do it, but it was not our intended path. Some signs at the base of the falls saying this is the track to Warringa Pool and this is the track back up to the parking area would be most helpful. My other concern, a bigger one really, was the huge number of weeds to be seen along the track, including thick stands of lantana. It all suggested the local QLD National Parks Service is seriously underfunded.

Wonderful falls especially after rain.
Great view from the bottom and from the lookout. Picnic spots all around and a few cafes on the street leading up to the falls. Nice walk that’s not a hard one for those who don’t want a hard walk.

Don't just look at these falls from the top - take the walk below and really get a sense of the power and height of these falls. Do the Twin Falls circuit clockwise to minimise the stairs going up. Continue to the Canyon Lookout and beyond to take in Blackfellow Falls - you can walk behind the waterfall which is really cool ! Spectacular after rain !!

Medium level walk particularly when it has or is raining as some walks can be a little steep or uneven however is a very pleasant walk and the falls are fabulous when there has been some rain. You can also take your bathers and have a swim in the pools at bottom of falls....can be a little chilly!.. Lovely rainforest walk. There is parking at the beginning of the walks. Take bug spray although we didnt have any bugs on our walk it is a rainforest. Take water also if a hot day..

No not at all it’s a nice gradual trek down. Runners or hiking shoes are doable for the hike.

Would it be possible to do the walk from the car park to the bottom and back with a 3 and 5 year old?

Hi Lansom,
To be honest, the walk isn't too arduous. In fact, we first took our kids there when they were about that age. That said, we had two adults looking after two kids. Patience is key and long as you don't rush it, the kids should be fine. You can always just go down the left hand side trail and return by the same route; rather than do the circle. That side is arguably a little easier. I would suggest good shoes even for the kids. Enjoy your walk! :)
