The ANWB has confirmed: Gorinchem is the most beautiful fortified city in the Netherlands! Just go and enjoy!
First make a stop at the tourist information desk VVV. They organise very nice city tours and climbing the great tower. The brick game is a fun thing to do for the kids.

Well-informed, friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Lots of local information and publications, and a surprisingly large collection of souvenirs.

The VVV is the tourist information office in Gorinchem that is very up to par on the information in and around the city. Any kind of information can be asked for, most is available for free but some brochures need to be paid for

Het niveau van lokale VVV's wil nog wel eens varieren, maar hier word je goed en vriendelijk geholpen. Goede locatie in het museum op de markt.

The tourist office of Gorinchem is a good place to start if you want tips on exploring Gorinchem and the surrounding towns. It is conveniently located in the center of town. It is even in the same building as 'Museum Gorcum'. Friendly helpful staff.
