Hoi Jan, Met Mark. Ik veronderstel dat je vlaming bent. Ja, er is nog plek om te duiken. We hebben hier zeer mooie kustduiken naar plekjes die niet met de boot te bereiken zijn. Afhankelijk van je voorkeur, duikbrevet en budget kunnen we ook van de boot duiken. Hiervoor moeten we wel tijdig reserveren. Je hotel is op 290 meter van het GF-Isabel hotel. Als je wenst dat we je komen oppikken, als je eigen materiaal meehebt bijvoorbeeld, komen we je s'morgends om 8u50 afhalen aan de ingang van je hotel. We starten elke dag om 9u en zijn rond 4u terug na meestal twee duiken. Tussen de twee duiken door gaan we iets nuttigen in één van de vele gezellige en (goedkope) tavernes. Bij ons kan je natuurlijk ook onze zeer mooie duik-uitrustingen huren. De weersomstandigheden zien er vrij goed uit in die periode. Ik verwacht minstens 15m zicht, watertemperatuur van 20ºC en luchtemperatuur van 26ºC. We hebben nu wat meer kans om ook engelhaaien (absoluut niet gevaarlijk) tegen te komen. Onze top-duikstekken Las Eras, Montaña Amarilla, Abades, ... zijn zeker mogelijk. Iedere dag kijken wij de weersverwachtingen nog eens extra na. Hier in de Atlantische Oceaan is dit niet altijd makkelijk in te schatten. Om als gecertifiëerde duiker te mogen duiken in Spanje moet je ons je doktersbewijsje kunnen voorleggen. Indien je dit niet hebt, of vervallen is (één jaar geldig voor duikers boven de veertig), kan je hier in de buurt ook een keuring bekomen voor 30€. Je moet hier ook een duikverzekering hebben. Ook die kan je bij ons kopen voor 10€ per 24u. Onze prijzen zijn: 45€ per duik 20€ voor volledige duikuitrusting 10€ voor een dagduikverzekering voor de boot is er een upgrade van 35€ voor twee duiken van de boot. Good afternoon, There are 2 different beginner courses. The complete one is called the Open Water Diver and takes around 4 days. It includes 5 chapters of theory, 5 sessions in the pool a final exam and 4 dives. After this course you are allowed to dive to max. 18 meters depth. (Kids less than 12 years down to 12 meters) Then there is the Scuba Diver Course which takes 2 days only. 3 chapters of theory, 3 sessions in the pool, 2 dives. The difference is in the depth (mx. 12 meter) and you need to dive always with a pro. As well you can do the theory at home with PADI eLearning and save of each course around 1 day. This you would need to order at PADI website. Good morning, To go snorkeling there is no minimum age. As long as they can swim all is good. There is just a minimum age for diving, which is for kids 8 years, if they just want to do a program in the pool and you need to be at least 10 years old if you want to have a proper dive in the sea! Hi Mary-Jane, I am Mark, one of the owners and founders of 12dive. The best introduction to Scuba Diving is the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program that we at 12dive even have improved to give you an even better diving experience. It is also the best introduction to the PADI system of diving education and can be accredited towards an Open Water Course or a Scuba Diver Course. In this course, you will get a video in our classroom, introducing you to your visit into the blue planet with pure simple basics of do's and don's. After this, we'll gear up in our equipment room, while explaining you the full scuba equipment, before going into the pool. In the pool, we have all time and comfort to practice with your equipment, hand signals, buoyancy control and swimming techniques. After, we normally take a break ti drive you to the best possible dive site. This is most often : Abades. I call it "the aquarium" because of the abundant marine life and clear water. It is also a marine reserve and a most excellent dive location for beginner divers and snorkelers and has some nice taverns for a snack or some drinks after the dive. Tenerife has everywhere turtles, but the turtles you are most probably talking about are the turtles of El Puertito de Armeñime. In this place, the turtles were fed by humans, so they associated humans with food and came to every diver, snorkeler and swimmer in that area in search of a free and easy snack. This became such an attraction that the turtles got overfed and sick. Last year the turtle-vet has taken all the 4 turtles out of that area. They got cured and released in another area of Tenerife to get "wild, healthy and natural" again. Up to now, those turtles haven't returned to that area where the wildlife wasn't very interesting anyway except for the turtles. Abades, as a dive location has much much much more to offer. We have the different landscapes with each their typical marine life, protected and untouched. For me the real diving experience. The price for this one day excursion is 110€. In this package, you also have insurance for 'Scuba-diving' since this is most often an exception in the normal travel insurances. If you book trough our website, you'll get a reduction on this price. If you like it, a second ocean dive is 60€. If you adore it and want to go for a read diving certification, your Discover Scuba Dive can be accredited towards a course.
