Walter and his team gave us an incredible tour of Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. On the boat, Walter exuded nothing but positivity, and was adept at spotting the wildlife. He kept the kids engaged - conversing with the howler monkeys, spying the caiman, counting as many iguanas as we could find. The tour included an "authentic Costa Rican" lunch. We were expecting a touristy style meal; however, we parked our pontoon boat at a woman's home in the flood plain and ate in her outdoor rotunda. Exceptionally authentic and a really special experience, especially for the kids.
Walter and his team were filled with knowledge, energy and kindness. Highly recommend any experience with them!

We booked our sloth and hanging bridge tour via our hotel; Hideaway Rio Celeste. Carlos was both our guide and driver for the day. He was truly an encyclopedia of wildlife knowledge! We spotted at least 5 sloths on our tour and the weather was super cooperative. Carlos was sure to point out a variety of birds, a hidden frog and frog eggs. He'd give us tidbits throughout the day including sloth speed and how to differentiate between males and females. We concluded our sloth portion of the day with delicious fresh fruits, cheese empanaditas and iced tea. We continued onto Heliconias Rainforest Lodge where we walked and crossed 2 hanging bridges. We got to see a hidden snake and enjoy the rainforest views. I can't recommend Carlos and Bijagua Rainforest Tours enough!
P.S Wear comfortable shoes you don't mind getting dirty, bring insect repellent and wear long pants!

Booked a night tour on really short notice.
Marlon shared a lot of his huge „garden“ including frogs, toads, opossum and some kinkajou. A Tapir which used to stop quite often we missed to see unfortunately.
However, the enthusiasm Marlon is showing to share his vision and the way he go to where he is now, outstanding. It is a family business, so Marlon’s Dad helped to spot the Tapir for quite a while 😊

My husband and I can't stop telling our friends about our great time on the sloth tour!
Cristtel was so kind and helpful in the planning process - we had our own car and wanted to make sure we could get home before dark, and she helped us plan our morning and afternoon to accommodate our needs, plus she served us snacks and drinks - so nice!
Our guides were INCREDIBLE! Rigo was a superstar, spotting sloths, frogs, birds and more. Freddy was SO knowledgeable about all of the wildlife, teaching us tiny details that we loved and would never have known about, like the fact that the sloths grow moss because they move so little, and that they only come down the trees to poop once a week! Plus all kinds of things about the frogs and birds and cacao... Rigo was just amazing at spotting the wildlife and then Freddy would line up his telescope and let us look through and then he took pictures through the telescope with our phones.
It was just all around fabulous, one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. HIGHLY recommend!

We had an amazing experience on our tour with Walter and Johnny! They picked us up from our hotel and drove us through the mountains to the Arenal Volcano. Walter had a wealth of knowledge and helped us get to know Costa Rica from a local’s perspective. He took amazing photos throughout the day and helped us spot a number of interesting wildlife on our hike. He pointed out details we would have never noticed if we hiked by ourselves.
Our trip to the hot springs was also incredible. We are on our honeymoon and it was nice to have some time for the two of us to unwind after our hike.
They both went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. We made a number of extra stops to see interesting spots around town. The lunch stop was some of the best, authentic food we had on our trip. The empanadas were amazing!! We had so much fun talking to Walter and Johnny and it was a great way to spend the day.
We highly recommend the tour!

We had a great time tubing on the Rio Celeste and were well looked after by Walter and the team. Walter was great fun and made the whole trip very enjoyable.

At first we were a bit skeptical if going down a river in a tube is safe…
But our guide Christopher took all our fears and this activity was one of the funniest and most special adventures of our trip.

We had an amazing day with Rainforest Tours on 6/29/24. We were able to experience the Hanging Bridges, Sloth Tour, and the Tree Chocolate Farm. We were lucky enough to be paired with Walter Diaz as our guide for the day. He was very knowledgeable on native plants and animals. He cultivated amazing experiences for our family at each location. Walter was enthusiastic, positive, and joyful. He encouraged our family to try speaking Spanish and always offered a translation. His love of the outdoors and fun personality easily engaged our teens for the duration.
Our driver, Johnny, was thoughtful and considerate. He interacted joyfully with the whole family. We shared lunch and some laughs about our music preferences throughout the day.
By the end of the day we felt like family. Highly recommend, and if you see them, tell them we say “hi”.

We did 2 tours with Bijagua Rainforest Tours: Day Tour to Arenal and Hanging Bridges/Sloth Sanctuary.
Our tour guide Walter Diaz was very knowledgeable. He has great energy, and motivates you to keep on going. You can tell he was excited and proud of showing us how beautiful Costa Rica is. Our drivers Johnny and Mauricio were also very nice, and friendly.
We also stopped at 2 places to eat both in San Carlos (La Palma), and in Bijagua (La Casita del Maiz). The Costa Rican food at both places was beyond delicious.
We had great conversations with all 3, and overall had a wonderful experience. Will definitely use them again in the future.

The guides where really invested in the trip, funny and respectful. They clearly wanted us to have the more fun possible. In all the guides trip I did they are easly in the top 3. The BRFT really made the trip better by theire experience and passion. Thank you Marlon!
