Superb island accessible only at low tide. Too bad there are so many tourists disembarking at each tide but you can get away from the main road to try to enjoy the calm of this small hypocampus island.

Of course, adapting to the tides is a constraint. But, once on the island, what happiness! It is both beautiful scenery for photographers, and long walks for sportsmen. You feel somewhere else, it is also the essential of an island, and you breathe this invigorating air, even if you have to watch your watch for the return before the tide.

Those who are interested in this island probably already know that there are no boats or bridges to the island. There is a paved road on the seabed, and you can only get to the island during low tide. The hours are listed on the tourist office website, but you can walk to the island on the seabed (not the road) about an hour before the starting time. A moderate number of hikers come, so it is recommended to start early.
The island is about 2 km from north to south, and a narrow sandy beach appears intermittently from east to west.
There is one road from north to south, and there are houses and fields. The stained glass of the church is very rustic and is a point that you should not miss.
When I visited in 2010, it was a day trip, but the tide was bad and I ran out of time. I turned back just before the island. This time, visiting the island was the main event of my stay here. I actually wanted to get to the island before high tide and stay until the next low tide, but I couldn't do it due to time constraints. It is possible to see the whole island during low tide.
The only facilities for tourists were toilets and a painting exhibition. Food and drink were not available.

I knew Callot Island a long time ago, I even stayed there in a caravan for more than twenty years. Threatened by an invasive tourist population (17 inhabitants in winter, several hundred in summer plus thousands of visitors...it had to be put an end to, and today, the submersible road continues to filter this transhumance. But what a marvelous and untouched setting!

I didn't know this island. When you arrive at low tide it is splendid, very flowery. I thought I was on Breat Island. The chapel is very pretty. Visit in June.

Nice trip. We walked with the children from Carantec to Ile Callot at low tide, saw the road that was still impassable in the morning, went for a walk in Carantec (beach & town). There is not much on the island itself (it is not commercial at all, we did not see any restaurants or places to buy ice cream/crepes. There are public toilets. The landscape is beautiful, the church is also worth a visit.

Attention aux horaires des marées : il est conseillé d'aller sur l'île quand la mérée descend pour avoir le temps d'y aller, visiter et surtout pouvoir revenir avant que la marée rremonte ! Car à marée haute, on ne passe pas !!!
Cette petite île, malgré quelques maisons, est restée sauvage.
Elle se visite à pied. Prévoir au moins 2-3 heures pour en faire la tour complet.
La mer est toujours présente, avec plage et rochers...

je pense que oui mais je ne suis pas spécialiste en fauteuil roulant, cela dépend de sa maniabilité... mieux vaut vous renseigner auprès de l'office de tourisme car plus facile peut-être d'y aller en voiture et de balader en fauteuil ensuite pour faire le tour de l'île, attention à l'horaire des marées pour votre sécurité !
