We rented a boat from Blue Wave for 3 days and had an excellent time. The boat was in great shape and performed well, doing everything we needed.
The boat was great quality with twin 150 engines and lots of power and control, perfect for cove and beach hopping, reef snorkelling and seeing the sights of Abaco, Hope Town, Elbow cay, Tahiti beach and sand bar and Great Guana cay.
We had one slight wobble - you need to pay a significant deposit (obviously) when you collect the boat, which we’d missed in the terms so had to collect another card from the hotel - worth noting and reminding upfront. Otherwise excellent boat and great service. Thanks - would recommend and we’ll hopefully be back soon.

BEWARE!!! This company is unethical. We rented the nicest boat they had as everything else was unavailable. The bottom line is the boat did not run and we cancelled. I disputed the charge on my credit card but they refused. They have you sign a contract that locks you in even when they don't deliver a safe operating boat.

Great place to rent a boat in the Abaco’s. Our flight was delayed and arrived after hours. The owner showed up and checked us in. Great guy and very accommodating. Boat ran like a champ. No Problems and it had everything we needed. When we checked in, no issues, no problems. Very easy to deal with. I have rented boats in the Abaco’s and this was the easiest. After we dropped off the boat used the pool, and shower to prep for the flight home. Then grabbed lunch at Snappa’s. No stress whatsoever

Use CJ's Dorado or Rainbow rentals. I've rented from both of them multiple times with no issues.
These shady shysters chared $2,000 for a small knick on one blade of one of the propellers that wasn't perfect to begin with. A new propeller is $300, but it was so minor they didn't even mentioned replacing it. Instead they tried to claim internal damage "may" have occurred, but admitted they had no proof didn't know and wouldn't look. Probably because that's a lie. The hub didn't spin and a sheer pin protects a small prop knick from damaging the engine. It's just a scam. They hit people with arbitrary amounts like $2,000. Earlier they charged someone $15,000 and called the police to take his passport if he didn't agree to pay it the on spot. They also didn't even have the boat that we reserved. I guess they lost our reservation. $65 a gallon for oil. A two day 26' boat came to nearly $6,000 by the time they were done. I'll never rent a boat from them again. I'd rather swim.

DO NOT RENT A BOAT FROM THIS COMPANY! Our boat was much older than expected and had known engine issues that were pointed out on the sea trial. Boat was still seaworthy and we only planned on cruising so we accepted it because no other boats were available and everyone acknowledged the issues. Much of the equipment as faulty and unreliable. The depth finder was reading 6 ft when we touched bottom. One of the props was slightly damaged which we are ok being responsible for. Owner blamed all the known issues on us and tried to charge us for a whole new engine. What a SCAM! He admitted that he was renting the “horribly damaged” boat out as is (new prop though) again that day. I wish those poor people the best. We will be taking this up with our credit card company and looking into reporting this to the appropriate organization in the Bahamas. Cab driver to the airport said this was a common occurrence from this company. Looked up reviews online and validates this. We will never use this company again and hope you don’t either.

Novice boaters. Had a spectacular time exploring Abaco in Blue Wave boat (24' OceanPro). Absolutely recommend GPS for navigation. Would also recommend the Abaco Chart book they sell for $30. Cant wait to get back.

terrible experience. boat was not available when we arrived at the dock with our luggage and three kids. numerous employees sat around on their phones with three available boats sitting in the water. after hour one, i asked if i could pay for them to run us over to elbow cay to our house so my kids could nap. nope. hour two i was laughed at when i asked for an ETA of the boat we "reserved". hour three the boat arrived and they took 45 minutes to process the paperwork. once we got the boat we were rewarded with a boat in terrible condition with a shoddy transmission on the starboard engine. after three days.the engine gave out. not one apology, accommodation or attempt to make it right. BEWARE.

We rented a boat with Blue Wave boat rental. The charge was $1050.00 for 3 days. Unfortunately our United Airlines/Silver Airways flight was cancelled with no available flights for 3 days. The canceled flight immediately put an end to our long-planned vacation. I immediately contacted Blue Wave by phone and e-mail to let them know of our cancellation.
Blue Wave indicated they could most probably rent the boat and would not charge us the $1050.00 for the deposit. Blue Wave indicated they would contact me with the status of the boat being rented. On the day we were to pick up the boat Blue Wave charge $1150.00 to my credit card, ~$100.00 more that the deposit and the amount I had authorized. There was never a phone call, e-mail, explanation or thank you from Blue Wave for taking our $1150.00. From what I was told but can not verify, our boat was rented during the time we had reserved the boat.
These folks are all business and really didn't care that our trip cancellation was beyond our control. Blue Wave was not even willing to negotiate. Poor customer service. Will not ever schedule another vacation to this place.

Rented a 21' center console from 2/26 to 3/10. The boat was well maintained and as expected. Booking and coordinating over phone and email was simple. They were pleasent enough to deal with.
This was our first experience having to rent a boat to get to our vacation destination, which was Lubbers Quarters. The owner of the home we rented recommended another boat rental place, but they were booked, as was the second place he recommended. Blue Wave was more or less out of desperation. They were about 35% more expensive than the other places we looked into and did not offer to pick us up at the airport, as would have the others. Our rental dates fell as such that about half our time was what they considered their off season rate, and the other half was their peak season rate. They charged us entirely for the peak season rate. We did ask about it, but they politely declined to do anything about it.
Our party consisted of of my wife and I, both in our 30's, our 2 1/2 year old son, and my 59 year old father in law who has bad knees and walks with a cane. They did not help us bring our luggage to the boat or assist in loading it onto the boat, though the gentlemen at the dock did kindly assist when we returned the boat.
We decided 2 days before to return the boat a day earlier than scheduled. The weather for our scheduled day was looking poor, with a 90% chance of rain and considerable wind. Not exactly the best conditions to travel in a center console with a toddler and a disabled older man. I called and informed them of our plans - no big deal. I was a little disappointed that they declined to credit us the day, and charged us for all our scheduled days. Their reasoning was that one person's bad weather would be inconsequential to another; that they couldn't credit the day because of our perception of bad weather. The boat saw maybe 3 to 4 hours of use while in our possession and was returned in the same condition we received it in.
Both my wife and I are business owners who deal directly with the public on a daily basis, and while I see their point of view, sometimes it pays to use intelligent and calculated disrection when dealing with customers who may have valid issues with their goods or services. It's important to weigh what you would lose now, versus what could likely be lost from future business. Unless you're not interested in future business, I suppose. Anyhow.
Unfortunately I would not recommend them and will not be using them again. Furthermore, while I'm fairly sure it's of little to no concern to Blue Wave, we've already blocked our dates for our next trip to Lubbers, which was fantastic.
