As well as being a friendly pub for food and drink, the facilities for study groups are excellent. On my last visit, I had technical problems with a presentation on a large screen. However, help was at hand - Joe came to my rescue, discovered the problem, and sorted it out. I can't thank him enough for saving the day!

Best Sunday roast I've had in ages. Very generous portions and great quality food. Highly recommend for the price - you absolutely get your money's worth

Had a very nice meal here this evening. The pie and mash was amongst the best I’ve had! The service was excellent - new waitress Emma and manager Chris really looked after us well. Will definitely be going back. Apparently the Sunday roast is very highly rated so I look forward to trying it. Highly recommend.

Hannah was warm and welcoming on our arrival. Great service and attention. Food was good although the veg on most meals was a little hard and not very fresh.
Limited choice of desserts but overall enjoyed our visit.

Midweek in March had cod and chips. Cod was cooked to perfection but chips seemed old, dry and tasted off as if had been cooked days previously and reheated in an oven. We both left most of the chips but noticed other customers leaving chips. The cocktails were lovely as was the friendly girl who served us. Everything echoes in this place due to its style and furnishing and loud laughter or babies crying makes conversation difficult to be heard as was this happened on our visit with our waitress apologising for the noise. Not her fault but the mother of the 3 babies sitting in high chairs who ignored 2 of them screaming at the same time. She didn't seem to hear them and focused on eating her meal. I would try this place again but would be put off if it became or is dog friendly as allergic and fleas unwelcome. If parents came with kids whom they couldn't control it would put me off returning. No fault of the staff at the Spitfire.

7 of us had dinner.
Lovely friendly, polite service. Food was really delicious (burger especially good).
Unfortunately our order was forgotten to be sent to the restaurant so we had a significant wait bit occasionally these things happen. Our waiter couldn’t have been more apologetic and free round of drinks helped pass the time.
Have been several times and it’s been excellent every time. Wish it was my local.

Arrived for meal in their beer garden.
Mobile number taken immediately as we sat for tracing, which is good.
Asked what I wanted to drink but when I suggested I go to the bar to see what they had, this was discouraged, Covid19 but fine, a beer was brought out super speedily.
Food was fine but expensive. Half way through eating though a member of staff came out to take payment.
I asked why he was interrupting our meal to take payment? He said, “the Boss sent me over and I have to!” I suggested he wait till we finished, to which he replied, “ we can’t, as people have done runners, so you have to pay now.”
Perhaps they could have phoned the mobiles of the diners who’d done a runner?....
This is a woeful setup and to be avoided if you are looking for any manners or style whatsoever....

We come here regularly for food and the Sunday roast is superb !. Loads of side dishes , extra gravy . Really good value and the service you receive is always the best .

Had a very good Sunday Roast Dinner , large portion and well cooked. Three different meats lovely thick gravy, roast spuds ,veg, yorkshire pud, but no stuffing. Staff were very helpful and polite and the resturant was very clean. A lot of young families so was very noisy at times, could do with an area for couples with no children..

This SN property has always delivered on customer service pre and post Covid situ. Which is why it’s astonishing that the management has brought back a certain toxic staffer to service a pressurised situation alongside other younger crew that actually care about service.
