Amazing experience. Hiked for 2 days in the jungle with great guides and saw a lot of animals (5 species of monkeys and lot of birds). Highly recommend.

In the end we did the tour with another guide. The place in the village we slept at was basic but okay. Ngadiren has a big network and that’s helpful if you want a drive to lake toba for example. Also the communication about where to be at what time could be better. We enjoyed the jungle tour with Lilik and Agil. They are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Huge thanks to expert guide Ren and his son for making my dream of seeing orangutan in the wild come true!
I booked 2 treks with them over 2 days, and Ren’s 30 years of experience made sure I got the experience of a lifetime. We saw several orangutan up close, including a mother with baby (omg). Ren makes sure you are comfortable and taken care of with delicious snacks and beverages before and after the treks, and he also helped to get me very reliable transportation to Lake Toba after I sadly had to leave Bukit Lawang.

I found Sumatran Adventure online and messaged a few companies to book my last minute orangutan trek. Ren got back to me quickly and I booked a 1 day trek for 2 people. He had a special on his website that included a stay at his hotel but we were wimps and needed AC so we stayed elsewhere. Ren also offered airport shuttle service which we took advantage of.
The driver was prompt and had a sign, Ren was in contact via WhatsApp the whole
Time. There was a torrential downpour driving in but the driver was a master on the roads. We finally got to Bukit Lawang around 10:30pm and were dropped off at a small shop. To my surprise Ren was waiting for us as it turns out most of the hotels/stays are about a 10-15 min walk as the road stopped there. It was pouring but Ren and the driver helped carry our luggage (note you have to cross a rickety suspension bridge and carry everything with you) and got us safely checked in. Wow you would never know where to go otherwise. As it was late we delayed our trek by a day,
He was cool. I also only had running shoes which he said would be slippery and he let
Me borrow the cleated rubber shoes the guides wear for free. They were amazing and prevented me from wiping out many times.
Day of trek he arrives early in full trekking gear and we were lucky to be the only ones on the tour as it was Low season. This man has 20 years experience and knows his stuff. He led us through the jungle tracking the orangutans. He knew how to call them, predicted their movements, could spot other wildlife (peacocks, Thomas monkey, baboons and about 5 orangutan). He took great care of us, made sure we were well fed and hiked us around until we were exhausted and satisfied.
Our jungle taxi back was super fun (don’t cheap out, you’ll regret it) and it was so refreshing after being drenched in sweat all day. Ren made sure we got back to our hotel safely and suggested other tours.
We booked our airport return with him and again he was there bright and early ( we had to leave around 6:30am) to help us and say good bye. Such a nice man, super knowledgeable and I hope this review gives people the confidence to book with him! Thanks so much from the friendly Canadians Wendy and Jesse

The 3D2N Tour was very well organized, the Owner Ren even provided me accommodation before the trip and helped me to go from Medan to Bukit Lawang.

We did a 3 Day treck. No countable animals at all. For sure it was the wrong path we track. Waste of time and money. I think we were the onliest tourists who leave Bukit Lawang without seeing Orang Utan great. Very disappointed.

I am very happy to complete this trip with Ren. It is a perfect and unforgettable experience. Ren is a great guide, professional and very attentive. He patiently helped us discover various creatures and explained them carefully. We were very lucky to see orangutans and hornbills. Great job by the special chef, lunch and dinner were great! Finally must mention Mrs. Ren, she is a very good cook, unforgettable taste. Joe

We did the 3-day, 2-night jungle tour with Ren Tony. Ren gave us free accommodation the day before and the day after the tour. Our guide was Tchi Tchi. He was very good at spotting orangutans and other animals. His energy and happiness made the trip very enjoyable. The accommodation during the trek was very comfortable and the food delicious. On our return from the trek, Ren helped us organise transport to our next destination, Lake Toba. You can also eat at Ren's, the food is also very good. All in all, we had a great trip and would highly recommend it! Have fun!
