What a fabulous house and gardens.
There is a mix of parterre and Capability Brown landscaping which is such a good balance.
The house rooms are lavishly and good on the eye.
There are some lovely walks in the beautiful grounds.

We got into the house and were shown a plan of the building. I asked questions and was heavily patronised. The killer was "You don't get to see much of the house". This turned out to be accurate. Not knowing much about art, our visit was disappointing. There is one family room, populated with photographs of family members meeting royalty. We retired to the coffee shop, and our egalitarian hackles were further aggravated by numerous photographs of previous generations enjoying informal times in India. We trudged back to the car park. I am 77 and was finding it a difficult walk. A staff member zoomed past us in a golf buggy, no 3 apparently, but did not enquire whether giving me a lift would have been helpful.

Excellent car park with plenty of spaces. The cafe was clean, spacious and staff were friendly.
The gardens are very well maintained and very well signposted.
The guide in the house was very knowledgeable. The house is a hidden gem.
The children’s play area looked amazing.

The grounds and gardens were beautiful and are clearly well looked after. The walk down to the waterfall and caves is lovely and lots of nice open space for children to run around.
The adventure playground though…..yes it’s great fun, but if you are going to put age limit signs up then ask your staff to monitor what is going on.
The ball pit , clearly says under fives yet four older children got in and started throwing balls around hitting the younger children. No parents in sight. A member of staff came over to empty the bin and said….absolutely nothing. Younger children had to leave , same goes for the bouncy pillow. Again great until older children spoil it..
And the indoor barn area, parents sat chatting at one end whilst children threw the toy food and foam bricks around. Most over five in there. Such a shame a lovely afternoon was spoiled.

Lovely house and gardens, the experience was marred by them just accepting card payments, they will not take cash for anything, this is discrimination ,cash is still a legal form of payment, not the staff’s fault it’s the people who makes the decisions , if I knew it was cash only I would not have gone .I refuse to use establishment that are card only.

Bowood grounds are lovely, the kids had a great time. However, admission is expensive and despite the website advising that it was open until 5pm, they begun shutting things early, the ice cream kiosk shut around 4.15pm and the play equipment at 4.30pm. Staff then walk around asking people to leave at 4.45pm. Given we had only arrived at 1.30pm we felt a bit short changed! Would be nice if there website was more transparent!

Das Haus selbst hat wirklich wenig zu bieten, wenn man es mit anderen Häusern vergleicht. Der Garten ist schön zum Spazierengehen. Ist dann allerdings ein teurer Spaziergang aufgrund der Eintrittspreise. Der Tearoom hat mehr den Charme einer Mensa. Also nicht zuviel erwarten. Für kleine Kinder gibt es einen recht schönen Abenteuerspielplatz. Parken ist kostenfrei.

Lovely property and gardens. Very well managed, staff friendly and knowledgable. Great adventure playground area for children, nicely laid out.
Very lovely to have free admission when staying at nearby Bowood Hotel - felt well looked after.

We can't rate Boward House and Gardens highly enough, we spent a lovely number of hours here, the staff were great, the house beautiful and the garden fantastic, thank you all for making our visit memorable.

Good and bad for my experience with limited mobility.
1) my feedback from visiting Classic Ibiza at Bowood was listened to from last year ✔️
This year a golf buggy was introduced & offered a ride from the entrance down the bottom of the hill.
I thanked the gentleman for giving me a lift, explained last year I walked up and down the hill on crutches, and was very touched at this new kind gesture
Shame there was no buggy at the end of the evening, I slowly walked up the hill to the designated disabled parking.
Negative feedback below regarding insufficient lighting in the disabled portaloo & lack of assistance from the staff on duty.
2) no lighting in disabled loo & lack of assistance from staff on duty when I asked for help.
Imagine my frustration locating a disabled loo (I am on crutches) to find there was no light inside the loo.
I visited towards the end of the evening, missed the last part of the evening in trying to hobble around on limited mobility locating assistance from staff on duty to ask for help.
First young lad opened the disabled door, advised me to use a torch on my watch or a phone torch, he could not see an issue with it being dark. And bid me a good evening.
I found another young lad to again ask for a torch, he told me to wait there - I said I really needed the loo now! Eventually he came back with a torch on a mobile phone. I rested it on the drop down baby changing facility. Even with a mobile phone torch on - I could not see clearly in the disabled loo, and I slipped on my crutches in the portaloo. I feel that I was not treated the same as able-bodied people using steps to use the facilities. The normal loos had plenty of lighting inside their loos, sadly I was unable to climb up the stairs.
I am an independent adult, and was annoyed at the lack of help & empathy by staff employed for the event. I felt I was wasting the staff on duty time.
Also, I missed the end of the evening trying to locate staff, and using the loo with limited light (from a mobile phone torch).
Not a good experience in this day & age, that should not of happed if there was lighting & staff trained in empathy & dealing with someone in need to use the facilities.

Yes in places, especially close to the house on the terrace. We spotted a few seats near the lake and the waterfall. There are places to eat and drink and you can take a picnic also.
