We went to a lot of distilleries during our trip. This one was the worse.
We were told by the lady host that we were not allowed to share a tasting as it was against covid restrictions and they would lose their license. This was after we explained that we are a married couple. Considering we had been sharing tasting paddles at every other place we visited this was a total lie made up by the host at this distillery. I haven’t found this rule anywhere in the covid restrictions and it is also very irresponsible considering one of us has to drive so we can’t both be drinking a full tasting paddle.
After this the host seemed to lose any interest in serving us and couldn’t even remember what gins she had started us with.
As for the gins, not up to the standard of the other distilleries in the area.
We only had 3 of the 4 in the tasting before leaving due to our dislike of the gins and the poor customer service.
I now know why this particular distillery is not on the list of distilleries worth visiting in SA.

They said we could have a tasting of 4 drinks for $15. They didn’t tell us till after we were charged that my partner and I weren’t allowed to share the tasting (due to covid) so we were charged $30 instead of $15 for just 4 tastings between the both of us ($80 total as we bought the grappa). They made us feel horrible and uncomfortable for asking if she accidentally overcharged us and they were a bit rude explaining that technically we both had some.

Spent a very pleasant 45 minutes tasting some award winning gins and grappa and a scotch for my husband. No pressure to buy, host friendly and his dogs gorgeous!

Could not do pass the hand made sign on the side on the road offering gin tasting. So glad we called in and met Joe his daughter and the lovely border collies. On offer for tasting was gin, whiskey and lemoncello $10 for a tasting which is refunded if you purchase a product. Got a gin and a lemoncello, fabulous people and a fun outing highly recommend dropping in could have stayed all day.
