We walked from the car park down to the bridge overlooking the falls,lovely. We then did the river walk and back up the road to the village.

Lovely spot for a picnic and a splash in the water. The car park was full so we parked up the hill so can't comment on price. There were toilets and ice cream available.

We started our visit to Grassington with a walk from the National Park car park down to Linton Falls. This is via a concrete path from the far left of the car park (so possible without walking boots). You can’t help but spend time standing on the wooden bridge watching the water rush by underneath, across the bridge you can also walk to the hydro plant with info board about its restoration.
We then went back over the wooden bridge and walked to the left along the river bank which takes you to the village (we picked up a free map from the information centre in the car park).
Despite the car park being really busy (including several coaches) the countryside just seemed to absorb everyone and it didn’t feel over crowded.
We walked into the centre of the village and were very surprised with the large number of small independent shops and choices of places to eat (cafes, pubs and restaurants). We spent most of the day in the village and really enjoyed it.

Visited today (Sun 12th Feb) for the 1st time with my husband and son, parked in the Yorkshire Dales visitor centre car park for £5 all day. There's a path at the bottom of the car park leading between fields of sheep down to Linton falls, sloping gently down a narrow path. The falls are so picturesque, we stood on the wooden bridge for ages looking at the beautiful view & taking photos, the sound of rushing waters is so soothing, with the hills & sheep fields in the distance. We crossed the bridge to see the hydro electric plant briefly then crossed back to walk beside the river Wharfe to the big stone bridge, a short but pretty walk, then you turn right & walk up a sloping street that leads to the main street & square in Grassington, plenty of tourist shops, cafes & pubs & a little free folk museum. You can see the filming locations for the recent series of " All Creatures Great & Small " all round the market square, the Devonshire pub is the Drovers, the Stripey Badger is the greengrocers & the vets house, Skeldale House is the house to the right of the Stripey Badger ( they change it by putting columns on the doorway etc for filming apparently. ) We had a lovely walk round Grassington after & a meal, a lovely winter day out, well wrapped up. They give you a free map of the walk from the Tourist information centre at the car park, it's an easy walk if you can walk up uneven paths & hills.

so beautiful to see and so is the little village.
You must walk behind the village to the church. Which is so picturesque - walk through the Church grounds to the stepping stones in the river - cross to the other side and walk back to the falls

A free natural attraction with 2 nearby car parks (Grassington for Yorkshire Dales National Park) and the closer Linton Falls car park that has ice cream van and modest pay and display charges. Bring large inflatable rings to enjoy the natural slide of the weir which is a flat downward weir on the far side from Grassington. Great in hot weather as River Wharfe is always cold!

It was our favourite picnic spot for more than 10 years but recently has changed a lot and we will be looking elsewhere to go.
Some people come and leave their rubbish there (it used to be a very clean and respected place), BBQs have become common although they're not allowed and you can get high from inhaling cannabis.

We did a circular 6.5 miles walk from Burnsall to Linton Falls the first half of which is along the river all the way to the falls - so delightful on a sunny day. The falls themselves are spectacular and a delightful goal before taking the return journey inland across farmland and back to Burnsall - but take care on following the signs - we missed one and did an extra 3 miles! Great scenery, but tired legs…..!

Such a lovely place to visit. Only a short walk from the car park, cost of £3, all on the flat. Definitely recommend a visit. Not accessible by wheelchair. On an extra note the car park has a toilet, very handy!

We had been on a walk from Threshfield to Grassington via Linton. We stopped on the bridge to take in Linton Fall. We even have pictures from several years ago. It was less fierce than last time but still worth seeing.

I would like to walk to Linton falls from the Fountaine Inn on Saturday but can't seem to find a way on google maps

Turn left out of inn , turn right at road about twenty yards away and follow the road to falls, less than a mile. There is a footpath that follows a longer route , turn left out of in and straight on, been a while since I walked it but the inn will tell you
