Went on a guided tour of the house booked online. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Just thought his introduction was a bit lengthy. This was only a minor irritation but it did mean I had time to visit the courtyard restaurant or gardens.
The house itself is a splendid Robert Adam modelled attraction, which dazzles and delights.

Whilst attending a wedding, 5 of our cars were smashed in and burgled. The staff were horrendous. They were completely unempathetic and blamed us for leaving a laptop in the suitcase in the boot. They said we should have brought it in go the wedding. They refused go check cctv and took no responsibility at all. The police said this is a recurring thing and Syon Park refuse to make changes.

Extremely disappointed with our visit. We were told when we paid our entrance fee to the gardens (didn’t want to see the house) that the conservatory was closed due to filming. We set off on an extremely long walk eventually coming to a lake with a few flowers near a bridge. The parkland is very rustic not a patch on Great Windsor Park (which is free).
We met others who told us that the formal gardens were also closed so we gave up. We contacted Syon but as yet have received no response.
This was certainly not worth £9.00 charged. They obviously make more money from a film crew so they should at least reduce the admission fee.
By the way Hilliers Garden Centre is excellent!

Firstly, my apologies - we charged a £5 reduced rate for the grounds when the Great Conservatory was unavailable due to filming. A temporary glitch to our ticketing software meant some visitors were erroneously charged the normal £9 rate. To resolve this, please contact: visitorcentre@syonpark.co.uk.
Our grounds were transformed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in the mid 18th century, who replaced the formal Tudor gardens with a natural, rural landscape. Thus we have no formal gardens, and none of our publicity refers to any. However, the grounds comprise 35 delightful acres of lake, ancient trees, shrubs and meadow. It is such a shame that you were so misled by some other visitors (who were busy spreading misinformation, judging by other reviews for that day!) that you did not go further to discover how much beauty and tranquillity there was to experience. I realise how disheartened you would have felt, and hope you will feel able to visit us again one day.

Gardens closed but not fully warned on buying tickets. There were signs “to gardens” but this was just a woodland walk. My wife as ability issues so couldn’t complete this. We met a couple coming the other way who told us it was just a dead end and there was no access to the formal gardens.

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit. On the day in question, our Great Conservatory was closed for filming. All our visitors were notified of this before we took payment (we charged a reduced £5 rate in light of the closure - if you were erroneously charged at full rate, contact: visitorcentre@syonpark.co.uk), but that our remaining 35 acres of beautiful lake, ancient trees, shrubs and meadow were still open. Practically all the pathways are level and have no inclines.

The couple you met appear to have been busy misinforming others (see other reviews for that day) re formal gardens, and I find it a great shame that they misled you.

We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and found space on the next free guided tour of the house. The 90 minute tour was most informative giving us extensive insight into the house, its contents and the family history through to the present day. The massive conservatory is an impressive architectural feature. The grounds,although pretty, are not extensive so not are advised without the inclusion of the visit to the house.

The whole experience was so good I'm sorry to only give One Star but I want to warn others going today about one particular stall holder who spoilt the day for us. To be clear, we enjoyed all the other stalls visited and purchased goods from a number of them without incident. The exception was the seller of olives and Turkish delight. The Mediterranean appearance of the lady concerned and her accent certainly suggested that she was from a lovely hot climate like Greece or Cyprus (or indeed the UK for the last few days.
So what was the problem?
Simple and we got caught out by being too polite, too courteous, and rather naive. So please avoid making the same mistake. We'd been given a good number of tasters and therefore felt it was only right to buy some olives and Turkish delight.
But, at this point she literally started grabbing handfuls of the various types.
When we came to pay, she made a point of not telling us how much it came to. Furthermore, we couldn't see the amount on the contactless device. Neither did we get a receipt.
It was only when I got back and checked the credit card that I realised we had been taken for a ride.
COST OF OUR OLIVES AND T.DELIGHT CAME TO £84.88...!!!!!!!
Be careful at this stall if you are buying that you know exactly how much the cost is before paying.

I recently went to a foodie festival in syon park and was excited all week to try the great food and see the lovely park we even pre booked tickets and I wish we didn't... little did I know it was all located in a field outside the park. Everyrhing overpriced. Food was terrible/okay at best. The vibe was boring and very little diversity of food choices. Yeah 3/10 wouldn't recommend and will probably never go to an event run by them again.

If you have seen Bridgerton, you will recognize this place. The house is wonderful. You only get to see a handful of rooms but it's plenty. The gardens are beautiful. We had a tour by the head gardener. It was very special. It's nice to get away from the crowds of London for a bit.

Beautiful property full of treasures and wonderful art. Amazing Robert Adam ceilings
very helpful knowledgeable guides, brought the history of the house alive and took the time to share little details
The gardens are beautiful and the conservatory just spectacular.
We enjoyed our time at Syon House and will definitely return.

Does the house have a Trail or activity that would keep a three year old amused!

This venue is not really child friendly. It is a lovely manor house, but there is nothing to keep a three year old entertained. There is a garden and fountains on the property, but most of the tour is through the house.

Yes, it is possible to have a picnic in the gardens of Syon House. Entry is via our Visitor Centre and tickets will be required. There are many special ticket offers and during school holidays children 16 and under are free. Please see our website for details and T&C's. Many thanks.

There is plenty of parking available at the garden centre, which is adjacent to Syon House. It is possible to walk parts of the park, but have to be honest and say it is are not that large or interesting (more farmland than park). So if your visit is merely to view the park, and not the house or garden centre, then might I suggest the nearby Richmond Park, which is much bigger, has lots of free parking, and offers more to see such as Pembroke Lodge, Isabella Plantation, Pen Ponds etc (Sat Nav TW10 5HX), and beautiful views over the River Thames near the Richmond Gate (a short walk from the Pembroke Lodge car park).
